Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 23, 2021 7:26 pm Hello We are putting in a new fibre glass swimming pool and have been offered either the PoolControls XLM filtration system. We've been researching however about this system and the Naked filtration system. I've done alot of googling, but I'm unable to understand the difference in simple terms as the explanations involve alot of chemistry talk. We just want a pool that feels like fresh water (i.e. like taking a bath). We do not want the feel of chlorine or salt and having to take a shower to rinse this off after a swim. Can anyone comment on the difference between the two systems and whether they will both provide what we are looking for? We are in Melbourne. Re: New pool - filtration systems 2Sep 23, 2021 11:06 pm The first one seems to be a combination of chlorinator and ozonator. It still needs salt in water, but seems to be lower amount than traditional chlorinators. The second one looks like ioniser combined with low salt level chlorinator. Also needs salt in water, but even lower amounts. It's been a while since I dabbled in pool equipment but I don't believe there are approved sanitisers other than chlorine, bromine and biguanide. Everything else is just secondary means that cannot provide adequate disinfection on their own.
