Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 16, 2021 11:24 pm Hi Guys, We recently decided to do KDR soon & thinking of Carlisle's Cantebury Grand Delux 47. The sales guy gave us a initial cost apart from the base cost & demolition cost which are Site Cost, Built up access cost & Council cost as follows: Site Cost = $25K Built up access cost = $5K Council cost = $25K (yes $25000) Is this correct, specially the council cost, which is so much high & have repeatedly asked the sales guy about the council cost & his answer is not convincing. (I would expect council cost may be around $3K-4K). Not sure if the cost varies council to council & My land is in Melbourne South East coming under Monash council. Appreciate if someone shed some light on this & suggest any way of cross checking what their council cost is correct. Cheers Re: Council cost blues by Carlisle 2Nov 17, 2021 9:45 am Contact the council yourself....and question it. If it is confirmed well nothing you can do. If wrong threaten builder to go to builders commission. Re: Council cost blues by Carlisle 3Nov 17, 2021 11:19 am I paid over $8k for council related fees so far. I'm in Whitehorse. Ask for a breakdown of those fees if possible. Same for site cost in details, but sometimes they won't tell you unless you pay the deposit to commit to have survey and soil done, otherwise it would be an estimate figure.
