Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 17, 2021 3:57 pm i all, Can someone help with above issue? I received flood report today and was told that the proposed plan need to be reduce by approx. 1 m wide, currently my garage is approx. 3.2 m away from my boundary and they advised to be 4.1m due to above issue. My neighbor did KDR about 12 years ago and they were asked to build a ditched driveway for over land flood flow through, their property is only 3 m away from our shared boundary. What questions should I ask the flood engineer? or what other options do I have? I cannot reduce my plan by 1m, it would look very strange. There is an existing stormwater pit next to the boundary at the back of my property next to the fence, can I build that ditched driveway to redirect the water into the pit? Thanks. Re: Overland flow flood 2Sep 18, 2021 9:14 am Overland flow typically occurs when the drainage pipes are already full, so diverting to the pit won't get rid of any water. In a flood situation water may actually be coming out of the pit. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get !
