Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 16, 2021 5:37 pm Hi all, First time posting! We are trying to secure a decent size lot in North West Sydney, Oakville to be exact, and we’ve found a 459m2 block which is the size we’ve been looking for, and at a reasonable price (is that a thing anymore?). The issue we’re now facing though is that the block is only a 12M frontage and, apparently due to Hawkesbury council restrictions and the area/suburb not being considered part of the growth area or corridor, we are restricted to having a 4.5M wide garage. To put this in context, we’re aiming to build a 32(ish)sqm home (5Bed 3bath) and love the design, however we’re worried about future resale potential with a relatively big home that only has a 1.5 car garage. Does anyone have any thoughts on whether this is something we should pass on? Seems everyone else is keen to move on a block like this and resign to a not-quite-double (or ‘big single’ as the builder put it) garage. Thanks in advance! Re: Oakville NSW - Zero Lot on 12M Frontage and Garage 4.5M 2Nov 16, 2021 5:49 pm To add to my OP - we were told that any block 12M or less wouldn’t be able to have a double garage (~5.5M) but that if the block was 12.02M, for example, that would be fine. You must be new to the internet. You're also the only person anyone here has ever heard of washing their garage wall. I hate to break it to you, there are insects and… 6 4947 I am building in claymore NSW and this is shown in the building envelope plan. … 0 10334 Thanks again for this information.
