Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 04, 2022 9:36 pm Hi, i am planning to build double storey and wanted to check if any volume builder would allow provision for residential list which can be setup later by the lift company. Also, does the structural warranty from the builder is valid after lift setup. Re: Any volume builder who does "residential lift" provision 2Apr 06, 2022 9:29 am Hey tauras6 Welcome to the forum Volume builders aren't in the business of adding future value improvements to homeowners. If you are struggling to afford a 2S house, then lift provisions will certainly push you over the edge. Widen and simplify your stairs, chairlifts are $20K+ Alter the structurals without certification and your and the builder are pretty much screwed, worse, if someone gets hurt OT, As an engineer I remember being told by the biggest builder in perth at the time, "We don't thicken slabs....build them another house when this one cracks?, " get the gist they are a sausage factory, lol they only change the packaging from display to Fake renderings on insta and FB (humour) Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Any volume builder who does "residential lift" provision 3Apr 06, 2022 9:40 am You need to talk to the volume builders and lift builders. I doubt volume builders would put a lift on their contract (and honestly, I wouldn't use them for that even if they did, they'll stuff it up), but there are definitely volume builders who will leave a suitable space for it to be installed after handover - depending on the requirements given by the lift company. Re: Any volume builder who does "residential lift" provision 4Apr 06, 2022 9:51 am Ask the salesman on FB and insta to show you the certified engineering/data/costs upfront, before you hand the salesman a 10% deposit for House PPA? Thanks, do you recommend any volume builder who would have done that in past Re: Any volume builder who does "residential lift" provision 6Apr 06, 2022 10:21 am There are displays with lifts, the lift companies put them in as sales hooks. OT, lets face it who wants to spend $1m+ on a home with a chairlift? Ask the builder to give you the address of recent builds and talk to the new home owners privately, they will dump on the company if they have done the wrong thing. Just make sure you aren't down 10% deposit LOL, Don't expect the salesman to turn up, after they finish gouging on the engineering his name will probably be poison.. odds on Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Any volume builder who does "residential lift" provision 8Apr 19, 2022 10:09 pm Mine did! I'm building with Residential Attitudes and they have built me a lift well. I intend to use Resilift (not the best looking lift but it will do...). As it turns out we will have it installed at handover, but that wasn't our original intent. Re: Any volume builder who does "residential lift" provision 9Apr 19, 2022 10:46 pm AnjC Mine did! No, we're in Perth.
