Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 17, 2021 7:08 pm We got a quote from one of the only builders we can find that are able to build the house we need on the block we have. The price they quoted was great, including 'fixed site costs' of $2000. Being naive, we thought this is a great price, and we can definitely afford to go ahead. However, reading other threads, it seems that this is completely unrealistic for site costs, and that we should probably be budgeting at least another $10k. So my question is, on a 335m2 block on flat land, what is a reasonable site cost to expect? Re: Unrealistic site costs 3Aug 18, 2021 12:08 pm Before you pay the builder anything ask for a document detailing all inclusions / exclusions and terms and conditions of the 'fixed site costs'. Also ask for a copy of their contract template to consider. This should include any special clauses. Be wary of 'bait and switch' sales tactics or loading up other the costs to compensate. What is their tender fee?
