Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Energy assessment cost 2Oct 16, 2008 10:20 am Amilelka,
You will find that is compulsary now to demonstrate that your new home is Energy efficent to local council, It is in WA anyway. And it is very good practice anyway. I do this energy efficency report, and glazing calculations as part of my drawing package when I draft houses. I would probably charge about $400 to do the energy efficency package on its own, but it really depends on the size and complexity of the house in question, obivously I will charge more for a two story house than I would for a single storey. Usually a good draftie will do it as part of the drawing package (like I do), simply because if the energy efficency and glazing calculator dosent work, then the house design dosent either (maybe too much glazing on the facade-giving too much heat gain, maybe not enough opening sections in the glazing for ventilation etc etc) There are many independant consultants out there who will do the energy report, maybe look in the yelow pages under building consultants or energy consultants. Regards, Pat the draftie. Re: Energy assessment cost 3May 30, 2011 2:24 pm Phone listings have Energy Assessors. Some are accredited by The Department of Energy Climate Change and Water (DECCW), now the Office of Environment and Heritage (NSW). These are mainly helping small businesses; maybe they can help further. For example The Energy Guys have a website http://energyguys.com.au . Maybe give them a call.
