Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 19, 2021 11:57 am An honest review about Metro Homes NSW also knows as Urban Homes NSW; Metro Homes and Partners; Lavish Construction, NSW and why to avoid them at all costs. 1) They are not builders, simply project managers who sub-contract and they do not have any permanent staff - not even the sales staff. the sales staff with whom you sign the contract and who promises you the world may not even work at the company by the time your build starts. 2) The CEO and the sales people will say just about anything you need to hear to get you to sign the contract. However they will not include it in the tender and give you a speech about community feeling and trust and a verbal promise. Which they will then forget everything about. 3) the construction timeframe - Verbally they will say it is 6 months, on contract it says 8 months but it may take anytime from a year to ne and half after the slab stage. One day of rain you will get an email the construction has been delayed by 2 weeks. 4) They do not have enough workers, so they shuffle them around. They will not work on your house everyday, sometimes there will be no work done for months on end because they simply cannot afford to hire more people. 5) They install the gas and electricity meters in the second/third month of construction and you will have to pay for the electricity usage during construction. Even if the usage may not amount to much, you are paying for the supply charge for both gas and electricity for the full construction duration. 6) The person who works in admin knows nothing about customer service. She is rude, will interrupt you during a civil conversation and pretty much threaten you if you try to discuss anything. 7) The color specialists - the newer one knows nothing about what is a basic inclusion and what is extra so she will try to charge you extra for every little thing. Also, her communication skills are appalling. No reply to emails, does not pickup her calls or callback until you cc the bosses. 8 ) Everyone is new and nobody knows what they are doing. Other builders will prepare for Occupation certificate before the build is completed to avoid the delays. They will wait until the very last moment and sometimes YOU need to tell them what needs to be done. FYI, This is not my real name for obvious reasons. If you see a comment from them saying 'we did not find you in our client database' you know why. Keen to hear from people in the area who have got KDRB done on whom they got the build from?
