Saves the boys messing up the house! Better for resale IMO Re: Which way to spend 10k...... 43Oct 17, 2008 10:33 am ahuang I think there should be a few more options. Most of the guys would probably choose #3..... So, how about a few things like: a) double the WIR in main bedroom (for the ladies) b) raise the ceiling (e.g. from 2.4M to 2.7M) c) upgrade kitchen (e.g. bench top, ..etc) d) pre-wired CAT5 to all rooms ... Umm the poll was specifically for my situation and that's why only the three options.... a) the master is for one person and we are putting in the provision for a wall of built-ins if needed b) ceiling is already raised c) already CS benchtop with ends d) wiring to be decided Casa... definitely building to enjoy.... just having a side ways glance at the resale side of things.. never know when something could happen and the house has to go on the market. Well it looks like the ensuite will not happen. The double glazing will happen. And we'll do a garage extension but not a full triple. I have to stop finding ways to spend money!!! Thanks to everyone for all your opinions and feedback. Much appreciated! Jo I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. I'm pretty good with money usually.... it's just house stuff... I can't stop. I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: Which way to spend 10k...... 51Oct 19, 2008 4:41 pm Double glazing, for sure. It'll give you back your $10k in a few years in cooling/heating savings and then you can add the shed for free.
The extra bathroom? One less toilet to clean Re: Which way to spend 10k...... 52Oct 19, 2008 7:21 pm Great decision Jo! Double glazing will be great
Have you really thought through the bathroom thing though? Your darling DS will be a teenager soon ... still, I guess being a boy, he won't spend as much time in there as girls?? Is that how it goes? Jo OK I need a lesson from you - I spend hours to get ready for the races!!! I've started wearing the shoes around the house already, nails, waxing, spray tan, hairdressers, and make up - I'd hate to actually add up all the time spent doing those things. Not to forget the time shopping for the outfit Paula Re: Which way to spend 10k...... 59Oct 20, 2008 10:26 am Ok... lesson.... have a shower.... wrap your hair in a supersoaker towel to absorb moisture. Do your make-up, by this time your hair will be not too wet (because of the towel). Blow dry the hair. Get dressed, and let the hair settle while your dressing, then straighten, then out the door.
If that takes longer than 20 mins there's a problem. The only time I take longer is if I have a bath, or I deliberately take longer by drinking my way through it all. My poor brothers... after living with me, they thought all girls were like me, then when they got girlfriends that take hours they couldn't cope!!! - hair stays in place all day and night, therefore need to go to the hairdresser for that, I'm crap at it. - make up stays on all day and night so several layers are needed (this also helps hide the flaws ) - underarms stay fresh all day and night, this requires several layers of deodorant with time to dry before the next application. - shoes don't kill me so time to put in all those gel things I think most of this preparation can be cut down if we took a decent handbag to fit a brush, makeup, deodorant, and band aids in instead of one that only fits betting money in Paula Yeah mine about 9 metres long and 8 wide with slope of 25% at one point but the end point of the outlet is past the side of garage and if he concretes allowing for… 4 4534 4 9060 I have a really long hallway which is 1100mm W x 11500mm L I would appreciate if anyone can give suggestions to light it up with Linear LED lights that goes from wall to… 0 8812 |
