I intend to owner-build my first house in north-west Sydney and I'm looking for an engineer to do the structurals and help with build throughout. The current status is all documentation is complete (except structural) and awaiting DA approval from council (couple weeks away). Initially I was open to getting small customer builders to tender my project - but varying degrees of quotes I'm receiving makes me wonder these guys just randomly quote without much detail. Currently shortages in the industry is also making things a bit difficult.
About the house:
- Mid-size 356 SQM (Internal is 326SQM)
- Detached Garage and Link to house (due to Flame Zone). House itself is entirely BAL-19.
- Engineering is hopefully simple as the floor plan is quite simple too.
- Happy to provide all the documentation (including DWG) to anyone who offers to help.
What I need:
- I need an engineer to do the structural who is also very fluent with 2D/3D BIM.
- Besides structurals, my main goal is also to extract quantities, and therefore evidence-based estimate the project (very important).
- I also need help with scheduling trades - Any working solution is fine - excel, MP etc.
- Help with as many renders (visualise) as possible would be great as this is my first build - and having these as point of reference when dealing with trades is paramount (I would assume).
- You will need to be patient with me as I'm a first time owner-builder
If anyone has any advice on this approach, feel free to throw some light. If you can help, please do message me with how much you'd charge for such a project. TIA
