Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 07, 2021 1:32 am Hi there, First post here and thought someone might know where I stand. Essentially there was a builder that put a slab down for a house a few years ago then never did anything with it. With the fhog etc I liked the area and decided to purchase it. We used a land and build contract for this. Have settled , moved in etc Now Iām trying to claim the first home owner grant and they are saying it should be seen as owner builder. Issue with this is the valuation will be at time of moving in, instead of at the time of signing the contact and I think with the increase in house prices it might sit over 575k if that were the case. Essentially they are asking why I paid an invoice for the slab when the slab was poured prior to my contract Any feedback would be greatly appreciated Re: House and land after slab poured 2Jul 07, 2021 10:00 am Ksteele Essentially they are asking why I paid an invoice for the slab when the slab was poured prior to my contract Any feedback would be greatly appreciated Good question, as the current building contract ( if he has one?) would have expired and why would you want to pay for a slab as your house is now not a new Build contract? you should have got better advice before you purchased the block and slab. Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Hello needing some advice. I was about to build my Alfresco and needed a new slab and remove exisiting slab as its not standard. So they start to excavate and jackhammer… 0 10687 13 6631 The concreter will take and reuse. In my case I bought structural LVLs and scraped them back and used them as joists. 1 5152 |
