I just started looking at display houses for a KDR. Went to look at La Pyrenees from Metricon, the level of upgrades they had were so high end. I like the tiles and stones they used. When asked how much per square for identical quality, they said about 18000 per sq. They didn't quote me the base price but they were reluctant for my business because of the no stopping sign (8-9, 3-4) and school nearby. Apparently they have a parking issue. So, my question is if I go with some other builder will I be able to get same upgrade quality , brands etc. I checked Carlisle display home and I wasn't that impressed. Last option is custom but that will be expensive obviously. Not sure if I can stretch my budget that far. Any help will be much appreciated, my first house build.

usually the smaller the builder, the more choice you have in terms of finish, and you won't necessarily have to pay a premium for it.
thanks for a quick reply, I have shortlisted a couple of smaller ones. Boutique is one of them. Their finishes look good too.
