Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 01, 2021 9:30 pm I am currently trying to decide between a blonde oak finished door and a paint grade door, I prefer the look of the blonde oak door but i am worried it will clash with the flooring I have chosen inside the house My pre-start consultant has suggested i go with the paint grade door and paint it to match the roof colour (Monument) Has anyone gone with a front door that dosent match the flooring inside the house? To be honest the monument isn't going to match your floor either, just the roof. If you geo a blonde oak and it doesn't work for you, you can paint it monument. Going the other way will be more difficult (if you even get a solid wood door). The other thing to considder is the orientation of your front door. Some manufacturers state that warranties are voided by painting your front door dark supposedly the heat absorbed from fierce prolonged sunlight can warp the door, hence lighter more reflective colours are reccomended. Don't know how much truth there is to that, but I'm yet to meet somone this has happened to (myself included - dark door, west facing, cops full summer sunlight for hours in the arvo- no issues) Dark matter scientist, can breathe underwater, mind reader and can freeze matter just by willing it.
