So people who haven't signed a contract yet do you think they will be able to get it? there will be a few happy people on this forum if they can! Re: First Homebuyers Grant Increase to $21k 11Oct 14, 2008 7:47 pm This is just fantastic news
We are a few weeks away from signing a contract to build so the $21k will be a massive help! Being in Victoria im hoping we will also get the state government bonus of $5k making it a grand total of $26k!!! WOO HOO The SRO website has not been updated yet so have to wait and see. Re: First Homebuyers Grant Increase to $21k 12Oct 14, 2008 8:15 pm Even though we don't qualify for this it still can only be a good thing if it helps building in general. And doubly good for those that can get it!

We lost money when Beechwood went bust, then the new owners of Beechwood upped the price by $8000 because the original 120 day tender had expired. Needless to say we passed on their new tender and went with a new builder. Finally something is going right and the money will be put to good use with the finishing touches. Re: First Homebuyers Grant Increase to $21k 14Oct 14, 2008 9:00 pm For everyone in Victoria about to build, the SRO website has been updated........... and yes the $5k state government bonus still applies so thats $26k! WOO HOO!

Im just wondering about how this will apply to us. We signed a contract in October last year.....house still being built ( but that is another blog somewhere else ) . We have the paper work to fill out which we will do but how much does one get? Im not sure if we are eligble or not? Thanks Re: First Homebuyers Grant Increase to $21k 16Oct 14, 2008 10:07 pm Back Pocket Cheer up Black Rain, when we bought our first house, there was no FHOG and interest rates were 17%. We signed a contract in October last year.....house still being built ( but that is another blog somewhere else ) . We have the paper work to fill out which we will do but how much does one get? Im not sure if we are eligble or not? Thanks I think it only applies if you sign a building contract as of 14th Oct 08 - 30 Jun 09. If you are in the process of building, then i'm pretty sure you've missed out. Wouldn't you have already applied for your FHOG if you're in the building stage?
