Would like discuss about many things related to building as they come. Is rendering less costly than painting bricks white in exterior walls? Hi Kate97 No sure where you are from but in Sydney acrylic render costs around $55-65/sqm depending on which contractors are available at the time. Sand and cement is a bit cheaper but does tend to have a reputation for cracking especially in drier periods. On a typical 4-5 bedroom 2 storey home you will end up with wall areas totally circa 400sqm, so acrylic render would be approx $24,000 give or take. If you were to paint, I would use a spray on system, not sure how long that would last as I have never done it but as a guess if someone quoted me $10-12k I would think that was fair. An alternate to painting or render would be the Taubmans Moroka system. I haven't used this since 2005 so have no idea what it currently costs, but its a very fast system to apply, From memory I think we did a 2 story house in 2 days so at a guess maybe $40/sqm so $16,000. I might actually get a quote on that to confirm I hope this helps a little Good luck with your decision Simeon Build will be in Ku ring gai council area, Sydney.
