With due respect, ( and I am only offering an opinion because no one else has ) I think you have too many colours and textures going on. In my opinion I dont think you should have more than two, other wise it looks too busy and like you are trying too hard. The shale grey and the surfmist are nice separately but then you are trying to mix in monument gutters and windows and brick and a busy pavement. In addition to that your roof is very dominant in the design so you have to consider that. I would keep the downpipes and the gutters and fascias the same colour which could be monument as a contrast if you want to go with the black and white theme ie black roof, black windows, black downpipes etc and white walls, door and garage. At the end of the day its your dream house so my opinion doesnt matter Simeon McGovern Affordable Custom Homes, We design and build to your budget Ashington Homes www.ashingtonhomes.com.au Re: Exterior Colour Suggestion/Feedback 3May 06, 2021 11:07 pm I agree - too much going on for my inclination too. I must declare though that I am really (almost pathologically) not a fan of limestone, so I would lose the limestone and try to source a grey brick to go with the shale grey and lose the surf mist. At the end of the day its your dream house so my opinion doesnt matter Thanks SejaeD Appreciate the feedback and suggestion. It didn’t come across my mind that the combination could look as lots of things happening. But I can see why that may be the case especially with the Tux pavement Selected the monument colour for gutters as I think that’s the closest colour to the roof tile colour (Artist Ink). So ideally, the roof including gutters looks all one colour (with the exception of the cladding on the roof). The monument colour for window frame looks too much (now that I think of it). It makes the window pop out as surrounding colour are all light. Will probably change it to something light to go with the cladding colour (Surfmist). Its not like the window is so amazing that I want to highlight it out with a dark frame. Rather just have it blend in with the surrounding. Ideally, what I’m looking to get is dark roof, light colours for walls/cladding, and combination light pavement with hints of dark texture (that dark texture to go with the roof). The others (gutters/posts/frames/downpipes) I just want to have it blend in with wall/cladding colours. I wouldn’t mind having the downpipes and the gutters and fascias the same colour (monument) as you had suggested but that would make the downpipe stand out in Shale Grey of the wall. Wonder how Shale Grey instead of monument would look..hmmm Re: Exterior Colour Suggestion/Feedback 5May 08, 2021 8:50 pm AnjC I agree - too much going on for my inclination too. Thanks AnjC for your input. In my head, I see the grey brick giving a very dark look overall to the house as the roof tiles are already quite dark. I’ve seen a few houses with dark roof and dark shade for walls and it gives me dull mode (just from what I’ve seen). I’ll see what light grey options are out there for bricks as I wouldn’t mind that No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed.
