We are building in Orange NSW. As we are building with 30 square house, with Rawson, 14Kw aircon was the option. I asked a local aircon guy to do a quotation as an option and they came up between 16-18 kw size aircon. Please correct my understanding, rawson offers aircon sizes other than 14kw or 20kw? Thanks Re: Rawson - Daikin from 14kw upgrade to 20kw cost 12Apr 13, 2021 9:12 pm Home2021 Anyone try to install the ducted air cond from their supplier and not going through Rawson. The upgrade cost to 20kw is quite pricey Depends on whether you're building a single storey or a double storey house. If single storey, then it's quite practical to install the AC after handover. Just get some quotes from your own supplier, compare against what Rawson are offering and if it makes financial sense then just do it. If double storey, then you would really need to get the ducts from the roof space to the ground floor areas installed by Rawson during the build.... I doubt they'll do that, but it doesn't cost anything to ask. It would be a lot of work to get the ducts to the ground floor installed after handover... as an example see the photo below from our build, these two AC ducts run half the length of the house within the roof space, then down from the roof space via voids built into the walls to the floor space, then through holes cut in the webs of the manufactured floor beams... all whilst avoiding other services (plumbing, electrical, etc). Much, much easier to do that during the build when all the other services are being roughed in. Thanks Reports from other Rawson customers here on the forum have indicated they usually offer 14kW or 20kW standard inverter Daikin systems depending on house size, with 35 squares being the tipping point. However they didn't hesitate to quote the 14kW and 16kW premium Daikin systems when we requested it at our internal colour selection appointment. I got the impression they would quote anything as long as it was from Daikin. Re: Rawson - Daikin from 14kw upgrade to 20kw cost 14Aug 01, 2021 8:16 pm Guys, I am building with Hudson homes and they are providing 16.7KWh ducted system. They are offering an upgrade to 20 KWh in 4400/- . Since my house is double story with 34 size , what capacity of Ac would be better? because an upgrade cost is too much for me. Thx Ali Re: Rawson - Daikin from 14kw upgrade to 20kw cost 15Aug 02, 2021 7:33 pm Ali Akber Guys, I am building with Hudson homes and they are providing 16.7KWh ducted system. Thx Ali Ali, In our case, we asked a local aircon supplier for a quotation. His calculation was based on areas of the house that is being used for daytime activity. He presented to us different option sizes. We are keen to get 16kw instead of 18kw as it is cheaper but we have already upgraded our insulation level. Insulation is cheaper option but will save money on running cost. Moreover, Also consider the window sizes and window orientation. If you read the thread above Robw has only 16kw though his house is a bit bigger than 34 squares. Also, on our case, our climate is zone 7 which is cold temperate. Just started the Build process for Chifley 42 with Rawson homes, will keep you all posted with the Build progress. 0 2464 7 12028 We were lucky in that our old house was so small (86 square metres) compared to the new house, they were able to take enough readings around the old backyard house before… 8 37160 |
