Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Organising site inspection, soil tests and contour surve 2Feb 26, 2021 8:25 am Hey jnb2590 Welcome jnb2590 Hey guys, We are looking at doing a KDRB and a number of the building companies want us to pay $2K to do site inspections, soil testing, contour surveys etc. $2k sounds about right, for the preliminary site stuff....no $urprises there. BTW clients always pay for engineering-> (extrapolated) things that are paid for have value. jnb2590 We are still unsure of who we are going to go with so just wondering if anyone has organised their own inspections and reports? So if you are unsure, why would you give a salesman $2K? Ex-car salesman designing your home using Render Cad.... and how much is it going to cost extra to fix up the engineering later.. if you leave it too long you'll find out? OT, Find someone qualified that you can trust and get them to organise a sketch, contour, preliminary engineering. Own copyright and get 3 builders to sharpen their quoting pencil. That's it in a nut shell BTW there are plenty of professional advertisers on this forum that can assist you.... do a search jnb2590 Or are you better getting the project home places to do this on your behalf? Most sales industries with the exception of new Homes are undergoing massive change, my2c LOL you might get an Ex-Ford and GM car salesman designing your million dollar ferarri House... goodluck with the engineering and getting finance, insurance, compliance, an accurate budget, etc,etc Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Hi Renee, Boundaries in NSW are generally shown on Deposited Plans.
