Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 24, 2021 5:27 pm Hi,
I am building my first home in Neerim South with SJD and just requesting some feedback on my plan if possible? I have my change round in 2 weeks and was thinking of the following changes: [b:1pn6ia5g]Ensuite[/b:1pn6ia5g] · Move window from WC from South wall to East wall and make the window smaller. [b:1pn6ia5g]Rumpus[/b:1pn6ia5g] · Change South wall window to sliding door. · Maybe shorten or narrow the Western wall window? Maybe a Highlight window? · Move entry to Rumpus from West wall to East wall and make a double door. [b:1pn6ia5g]Family/Meals[/b:1pn6ia5g] · Move sliding door to Meals and add window to Family? Maybe Highlight window? [b:1pn6ia5g]WIP[/b:1pn6ia5g] · Sink not on plan, should be. · Stone bench from West wall to North wall and down to East wall (with a gap for the fridge) · Cabinets under the bench of West wall, and overhead cabinets along the North wall · Add Microwave cabinet? Maybe on island? · Pantry and shelves along East wall and halfway up South wall. [b:1pn6ia5g]Bath[/b:1pn6ia5g] Need to change this around as I don’t like TR and shower location to the entry door. My initial idea/s: · Move shower to sink/vanity. · Move sink/vanity to where shower was along the West wall. · Maybe move bath along the East wall for a Windows view? If you have another idea for changes, please let me know as there might be things i haven't considered. Also the plan doesn't show it, but there is a 3m easement running down the south and west boundaries. Thanks Re: Please provide feedback on design - first time homeowner 3Feb 26, 2021 4:03 pm From the family room you can look straight down into the bathroom at the end of the hall. Why not move the bathroom, toilet, and garage forward so the entry door from the garage is aligned with the hall. This way, you can also put a small vanity in the toilet for washing hands, you can also make a bigger laundry, and the extra space at the back of the garage makes a great workshop or additional storage. Thanks OurLindrum52, that's actually not a bad idea, it means I wouldn't have to enter in from the laundry. I just need to see how much more it would cost if it's going to increase the size of the house. I'm pretty much at the peak of my budget now. gogo65 The wall of the master that backs onto the WIR, assuming you will place your bed on that wall? It may not be long enough for a king bed and bedside tables. Yes the bed will go on that wall, how wide is a king bed usually? I can narrow those doors from 820mm to 720mm which might help a bit. Hi Brainstrust, I had a go at creating my own irrigation plan, keen to get some feedback. It will be run from one 750-800W pump, off 2* 5000L rain tanks.
