Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 17, 2021 9:26 pm New to this forum, and pretty new to building. We've just signed a contract for a property that we are planning to knockdown and rebuild. The front of the block faces north (that is, the house is on the south side of the street). Out of the plans I have gone through, we rather like the Princeton by Oakford: https://oakfordhomes.com.au/home-design/princeton/ We'd need to flip the plan so that the bedrooms are on the east, and I like that there is a living area on the north side of the house. But I'm kind of wondering if the main family area will have enough light with the south window (even with the al fresco), or whether we should ask for the design to incorporate Velux skylights, or somehow fit in clerestory windows? Is it even possible to have useful clerestory windows without going for a full skillion roof? I am also thinking about removing the west window, but would that make the room feel more enclosed? dimensions on your original plan are inconsistent and with accurate dimensions (including site plan, upstairs and down) i could make a proper scale drawing with furniture… 3 6196 Hi i am looking to buy an investment near by North Rothbury.
