Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Storage under stairs 4May 09, 2021 5:36 am Sab-123 Thats perfectly normal for the project home guys. You wont have any issues with rotting unless you have a water leak under there. When you go a custom build, we will sheet that and install some good lighting so you can really use that space effectively. Same with another pet peeve of mine which is in the garage, often the project home guys will only sheet the garage down to slab height so the skirt often sits well above the floor and follows the top of the slab. It just looks so cheap and nasty! Sheet to the floor and run your skirting boards along the floor/wall juncture! Anyway, happy mothers day to all the mums regards Simeon Simeon McGovern Affordable Custom Homes, We design and build to your budget Ashington Homes www.ashingtonhomes.com.au Re: Storage under stairs 5May 09, 2021 8:10 pm SejaeD Sab-123 Thats perfectly normal for the project home guys. Is this what normally builders do for storage room under stairs. Please advise. That's what ours looks like also. I could only find one of our builders display houses which had a door under the stairs and when I checked inside it was internally sheeted but when I questioned the builder at the tender presentation they said the internal sheeting under the stairs wasn't standard. If it bothers us we'll get it sheeted after handover. We did however remember to get a light installed and have the floor tiles extended to the area under the stairs (both also not standard).
