Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Family Home - CC Imminent. 26Nov 03, 2008 9:57 pm Spare Bedroom's Ensuite - bit tricky since we are planning on another baby but since we don't know what it will be needed something slightly neutral.
Mosaic has taupe / khaki / lilac tones with taupe floor tile and white gloss for walls. http://i493.photobucket.com/albums/rr295/harrietandquinn/P141008_1102.jpg Re: Our Family Home - CC Imminent. 28Nov 03, 2008 10:00 pm Sharee I hope you have a maid, that is alot of bathroom cleaning! It is a beautiful house, and I love the colour of the benchtops! Sharee - no, no maid just me. Really they will be more dusty then anything else as H is only 3yo and Q is 1.5yo - so will be sharing our ensuite for a loooooong time yet. Re: Our Family Home - CC Imminent. 29Nov 03, 2008 11:56 pm Great house plan, great colours, I particulary like the main ensuite and Harriets ensuite colours...beautiful.
I am envious of your falcon oven. I regulary visit HNorman and lovingly stroke the red one they have there I have wanted one for the longest time, but cant afford it, nor do we have to room. Re: Our Family Home - CC Imminent. 30Nov 04, 2008 12:18 am WOW Kyton, very impressive house!!!
Cant wait for the build so I can finally see the house without trying to visualise it Idiots are fun, that's why there is one in every village! - Dr. House - Re: Our Family Home - CC Imminent. 32Nov 04, 2008 3:42 pm Monkeyupatree - I go to visit ours each couple of weeks in the storage shed to make sure it is still alright!! DH reckons I have a problem
Paula & Wonderland - yep can't wait for it to start, that is the problem with a custom design - no display home for us to see it in the flesh. And yep no plain colours for us. Since this is it for us, never moving again then we asked H what colour she wanted for her bathroom - she chose purple. Q is too little to choose but we wanted a colour that would last him right through childhood / teenage years. My kitchens have always been blue so I chose the Ming as it was discontinued - cheap and the right colour. Everything has been bought / ordered with a purpose and with the budget strictly in mind. Re: Our Family Home - CC Imminent. 34Nov 04, 2008 6:49 pm Hehehe no Donuts - they are actually tiles (but similar to the ones you have chosen, they are printed with a pattern that looks like wallpaper). They are huge tiles ( with matching huge price) but hopefully since we are being careful and buying so much from auctions as cheap as we can it will be worth the extravagance. Re: Our Family Home - CC Imminent. 35Nov 04, 2008 10:00 pm Love your falcon. We have one in this house (bought for 1/2 price in clearance a while ago now) but will have to save up to put one in the new house. It's the only thing that I will miss from the current house. I love my falcon! Re: Our Family Home - CC Imminent. 36Dec 10, 2008 9:34 am More purchases made yesterday - from the wonderful GraysOnline This time we bought a wall cupboard unit in rosewood finish with 7 doors - approx 3500 x 550 x 2500mm; 6 section fitted with internal shelving; 1 section cloak cupboard, all doors fitted with magnetic catch doors. The plan is to install in the study but if for some reason we can't get it to fit then it can go into the garage. SuH - if you are looking at this thread - it was the final sale of all the NIB offices in town. You should have seen the rosewood fixtures in all the executive offices - and they went for a song. <edit> Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Our Family Home - CC Imminent. 39Dec 10, 2008 8:56 pm Donuts - we figure one for DH, one for me and the kidlets can squish together!!
Now just trying to work out the logistics of being in 3 places at one on Friday to pickup all the new purchases Some things are worth waiting for. Re: Our Family Home - CC Imminent. 40Dec 13, 2008 9:54 am Well heard from Council / Water Board / Builder yesterday. They through a bit of a spanner in the works because they expected us to demolish the existing home upon the site prior to building our home. We are just about to put tenants into the home so this wasn't what we wanted. After a bit of a discussion it seems that Council was more worried about access for the building site - but since we have a clear thoroughfare through the block next door (which we also own) we covered this concern off quite quickly.
So Council has agreed that as soon as the new home is completed we will either have to demolish the existing home (to get around dual occupancy laws) or alternatively get the subdivision approval underway. More then likely we will go with the latter as we will be subdividing the block into three eventually - one for us, one for the in-laws and one at the front containing the existing home (which in the long run will be demolished and a new home eventually built for my parents to rent off us when they decide their heritage home is too much for them). So now just waiting on the Water Board to give approval for the final redirection of any overflow directly into the stormwater drain then our builder has 4 weeks to commence building. Picked up the chaises and wall unit yesterday. All are brilliant buys which will (a) look amazing & (b) save massive amounts of money come moving in and furnishing time Now the only problem is that our builder is no longer able to supply the 2400mm vanity that they quoted in the tender. So their options were to have two separate 1200mm vanities with a nib wall in between - but this looks a little dicky or have a custom made vanity - which will cost another couple of hundred but we will end up with whatever colour we choose.
