Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 13, 2021 1:41 pm Hello, My builder got CDC approval for the plans but it had this note on it. I asked and they told me it only means that CDC do not cover alfresco and it won't affect final OC. Since the builder only does compliance certificate and l will do final OC, should I be worried? Never seen it before for an alfresco, but essentially there are certain types of building work which are exempt, meaning that you don't need approval for them. Its been a while since I last looked at the list, but from memory it includes garden sheds, pergolas, pool gazebos and minor renovations. So basically, I would say that this means you can build your alfresco without needing planning permission.
