Building Inspector Perth

Hello
I checked this forum for recommendations for a building inspector in Perth. One of the recommended inspectors seems to do their first inspection at plate height. Isn't it recommended to do an inspection at slab down first?

Hello I have recently built and if you have an independent building inspector first inspection is when slab is poured - if you have an independent building inspector you can also chose at what stages you want the inspections

Thanks! However that’s just the point of this post - the inspector that was recommended here only did their first inspection at plate height when it is more usual to do the first at slab pour.

I contacted him and asked him why he did that when most others do it at slab pour and he sent me a useful document outlining his reasons (obviously he gets the question often).

His reasons were interesting, and probably sound but I think nonetheless I will go with an inspector that does do slab down.

You will find in perth engineering firms do most of the structural inspections ie footings, slabs, suspended slabs,etc
as they are the only ones that are legally qualified. Check with your Council Building Surveyors.
