Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 30, 2021 2:50 pm Hi all, we recently had plumbers come out to do our storm water on our new build, we're basically right at practical completion.
When laying the storm water pipes they removed part of our footpath, I was concerned they'd remove our site peg as the star picket we drove in was gone, the survey peg was still there a couple of feet or less from the section removed. Just to be clear, I am talking about the big peg level with the ground, not the marker. It's about 2 inches thick and 200mm long, there is even a nail hole in the top of it. On Friday concreters come out to replace the footpath, they have removed the survey peg and left it sitting on the ground, I have no idea where it actually was now. I've been told by one person at our builder that they no longer need the pegs, they only need them for their set out and we'll need to get resurvey done before we can do our fences, sorry but it's not their responsibility. Naturally I am not happy with that answer knowing a resurvey is expensive and that our fencers were due out next week, is it worth demanding they rectify the situation or do we just cop the expense? Or will the fencers only need three of the pegs? Thanks Re: Builder removed boundary peg 2May 30, 2021 3:07 pm You should be able to restablish if the other title pegs are around. the dimensions will be on your title plan. Re: Builder removed boundary peg 3May 30, 2021 3:10 pm Thanks Bashworth, unfortunately fencers are likely to be delayed a second time anyway due to the neighboring builder who delayed fencing the first time by doing the same thing, encroaching on our lot with dirt and set outs. We'll see what the fencer comes back with. Re: Builder removed boundary peg 5May 31, 2021 7:49 am strannik Check if there is a nail in the kerb side. Sometimes they put it into the concrete as a more permanent survey marker. Our street has them every second house One side has a nail, not the one with peg removed Re: Builder removed boundary peg 7May 31, 2021 1:26 pm Just be careful using a nail in the curb. Sometimes they are used as height datum and aren't related to lot boundaries. Ah yes forgot about this but if the other side peg is still there then that's the reference point thanks Chippy, i hope they have applied sealer but i am doubt to be honest, so i am gonna do this job after handover. 8 16294 You should be able to encase the sewer but you will need it designed and approved and access to lot 580 to do the work 2 17168 |
