Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Dec 09, 2020 1:05 pm Hi, At the handing over of the keys, the "buffer" of my building supervisor wanted me to fill in their forms with faults I find and then to hand them in at the end of the six-month warranty period. I refused as then the warranty period has lapsed. Worse, she even wanted me to sign a form saying all warranty faults had been attended to at the handing over of the keys! I prefer to email the "buffer" with any fault I find with photographic evidence, but have only been lucky so far with a leaking cistern, but not with several other faults. Before a plastic drainage channel, the pavers were not supported by concrete leading to them moving and it looks like I will have to contact the Building Commission with this complaint and pay for the privilege. I can understand the builder hopes to fix problems with as few visits as possible. I am still waiting for the warranty forms I requested just in case I must use them, so the builder has no excuse not to do any warranty work. How did you do the passing on of warranty work? Thanks.
