Hey guys,
We are currently thinking of KDR on our land which slopes towards the house. The street level is probably up to 1-4 feet above the ground level, starting from the front yard and ending at the backyard fence. We could push the house towards the street a bit, something like 7-8 meters away, this way the ground level is only less than 1 feet lower than street level.
What builders told us is that we would need to add 10-20K on the storm water system, add in ground tank or absorption trench, as we can't get easement from neighbours.
We are concerned about:
1. Would the cost end up much more during the process?
2. Would the house still look ugly as it's still lower the street? I wonder if it's possible to raise the house bit? I haven't got answers from builder.
3. Would the trench cause problem on the backyard in the future? e.g. you can't build anything on top of it.
Many thanks.
