Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 08, 2020 9:42 pm Hi everyone I went to my PCI walkthrough last week and noticed that the perpend were misaligned and the size of the perpend varies. When I asked the site supervisor why this was the case, his response was that it was due to the door and windows. I don’t know anything regarding bricklaying but it doesn’t look right to me. It seems like a very messy job and the joints in the corner do not align. Is there any bricklayer or builder in this group that can have a look at the attached pictures and let me know if this is to code? What issues can you see in the picture and how do I get the builder to fix it? I also found a cracked brick in the alfresco area which the site supervisor said was not an issue as I’ll need to add more concrete or do a deck on top of the existing slab. I told the site supervisor that this was not my intention. Are they required to fix this cracked brick? I am really concerned about this these issues as they will definitely impact on the resale value of my house if I do decide to sell at a later stage. Thanks so much for your help. Honestly, and I say with kindness, the site supervisor who has been "managing" your build should be fired. This should either be rendered or pulled down, Its not up to basic building standards for face brick.
