Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 04, 2020 6:22 pm Hi, I'm currently going through the design process for a metricon build and cannot find a way to have a laundry chute set up. I'll be willing to make some small additions to the plan on the top floor to accommodate. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Have you got a fixed location in the laundry for where the bottom of the chute will be? Re: How can I make a laundry chute work here?? 3Nov 08, 2020 6:23 am Thanks for the reply, yes you are right with WIL and WIR2. The left side of the laundry as per the plan will run a stone bench top and appliances. the right side wall will have a series of floor-to-ceiling cabinets. it was more whether I could consider using an angled chute or have it accessible by the hallway rather than a particular room however the walk-in linen would be a reasonable area for chute?? Re: How can I make a laundry chute work here?? 4Nov 08, 2020 10:44 am I don't think you will be able to fit a laundry chute. Your laundry is directly below bedroom 2. Your WIL, which would be the most obvious spot to put a chute and even the robe in bedroom 2 are above the kitchen. Unfortunately I'd say you are out of luck with regards a laundry chute. I would say if there was any chance it would have to be accessed by the master bedroom bed one but that's not ideal. Do you think that possible from there? Re: How can I make a laundry chute work here?? 6Nov 08, 2020 8:59 pm The bed 1 WIR sits over the rumpus and doesn't get close enough to run a chute to the laundry. Unfortunately the laundry sits directly below bed 2. Above means you need to patch the cornice and might need to deal with… 2 61339 |
