Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 21, 2020 7:12 pm Good evening all, Late 2019 my wife and I purchased a block of land (brisbane, daisy hill) with the dreams of building our forever home. After months of research and queries with different builders we came across "Omni Built Homes" based in Tingalpa, Brisbane. We met with Omni numerous times, as we had done with numerous other builders before we eventually signed up, and were glad we did. Working with Omni was a pleasure and everything worked out as we imagined. They are a "small" builder, but the quality was fantastic. We had hired an independent inspector to do an inspection at each stage (4) as we have no building knowledge and all reports came back "above average" and they were quite impressed with the care and detail given to our build. Costs were on par with other volume builders, but feel we got more bang for our buck as we built a custom home to suit our block (might be a little bias as it was our house but we are happy) with great inclusions. We had a flat block, but it's a 'battle axe' built behind another house. Everything was straight forward and there were no major issues or unexpected surprises involved with building our house which resulted in a relatively stress-less build. The house was completed over two months ahead of schedule, even during the peak of covid when we had signed up. They may of had a longer build time frame but it wasn't a straight forward house and was still delivered ahead of schedule. Being a small builder we feel as if we had a more of a personal experience and weren’t just a number. Everyone knew what was going on and who we were which meant our queries were settled in a timely manner. If anyone has queries or questions about using them feel free to send me a message. What main documents (Certificates) you got from your Builder on Handover day \ after Handover? Have you received following inspection reports from your Builder?
We are building in Logan area & Logan city council has emailed me "Plumbing and Drainage Form 19 - Final Inspection Certificate" yesterday. Regards, Chetan Re: We built in Brisbane with “Omni Built Homes” and we’re d 3Oct 23, 2020 6:57 pm Hey Chetan, We only have reports on what we paid extra for (extra inspections) I’m not too sure on what the council was given, but I would assume our builders handed all paper work over that was required and we haven’t been asked? Sorry not sure on what’s going on with your plumbing and drainage question? Cheers Steve Re: We built in Brisbane with “Omni Built Homes” and we’re d 4Oct 26, 2020 12:00 pm Hi Steve, Thanks for the reply. I am also not sure why council send us Final certificate while online it still showing as "Application Status Decision Notice Issued". It should be "Application Status Final Issued". "Decision Notice Issued" means construction is going or completed but Final approval is not issued. I am thinking to visit council help desk if they can answer. Here is the link to check the DA application for Logan CC. https://devet.loganhub.com.au/#/landing Thanks & Regards, Chetan Hi mates, I thought to share my experience here and it would be bit helpful if you are looking for a builder.
