Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 20, 2020 4:17 pm Hi All, It might sound silly but I really want to get to know any idea or trick to be able to visualize the size of a room by knowing the size. For example if someone says would you like to have room of 2m x 4m, I am unable to guess the realistic size of the room, like would it be as big as a bathroom, or a laundry , etc..is there a trick to learn this? Please help as I am doing my house project all by myself and have been doing my home work but this is the one I really need to get over. Thank you, Re: Room size 2Oct 20, 2020 4:24 pm Compare it against the rooms of your current house? Or go out to an oval and tape it out to scale with masking tape. Re: Room size 3Oct 20, 2020 4:39 pm Yeah kind of a hard one to answer as there are no "standard" sizes for bathroom or laundry's. Like Hillsbuilds said, get yourself a tape measure and check the size of the rooms of your house or take a tape measure to display homes and measure the rooms in them to see how they compare to what you're thinking. Re: Room size 4Oct 21, 2020 8:36 am Hi guys, Thank you for the idea. I have already tried it. The problem for me occurs, not really when I have visualize 1 room (approximately). It happens when I have to visualize all the rooms together and imagine how big the plan will be, or how small it should be, or even that how small or big it will look if there is a + or - of few meters.. Please help. Thank you, Re: Room size 5Oct 24, 2020 7:44 am ![]() Hi guys, Thank you for the idea. I have already tried it. Thank you, post your plan showing approx dimensions and direction of north and i can draw up a rough plan that can show the size of the whole house and individual rooms and then make adjustments to increase or reduce Re: Room size 6Oct 24, 2020 8:13 am https://onetoonedisplays.com.au/offer/ Walk through your home in real life scale before you build. Similar to the size yard we are going to end up with after we build (about 11 deep by 12.5 wide). In the suburb we're building this would be considered way above… 2 1299 Just an idea. If you are allowed to change the plan at all, if you make a couple of small alterations to the robes in Bed 2 and Bed 4, you can create a whole heap of extra room. 9 1904 ![]() Hi Lockmac, Your return air grille should always bigger than the return air duct itself, this is because the return air filter restricts the airflow & as it gets dirty it… 0 4640 |
