Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 20, 2020 3:25 pm Having second thoughts about the size of our ensuite in comparison to the WIR. I've always been of the opinion that ensuites in general are too big when they come at the expense of the WIR. Yet in spite of that we've ended up designing a house with a much larger ensuire than WIR. Just curious on what peoples general thoughts are on it. Our ensuite is 3430 x 1880 and the WIR is 2380 x 1880. Obviously, you would never want a door opening inside for such a small WIR. You can certainly squeeze your ensuite too - think twice re dual sinks (in real life dual usage almost never happens), can also move WC to the opposite side of the wall + move the door a bit lower and let it open to the bedroom side too. I've mocked up the size we would have for the WIR and it's fine, it's just whether or not its worth sacrificing some ensuite room for more WIR room. We do like the idea of large ensuite as well which is how we ended up here but just not 100% sure if it's the right move. Considering where the door for the WIR is I don't think it makes too much impact on room as you'd never have storage in the space that door is swinging anyway. Interesting thoughts about the dual sink vanity though. The toilet was actually on the other wall originally and we moved it so that you wouldn't feel cramped at the vanity with a toilet behind you. Follow my build here: https://www.instagram.com/ivy5custom Thanks for the suggestion. The space between shower and sinks was too tight. I agree about the toilet location. So I have tried two other options: The lower one is… 3 6138 the step up is 30mm and wanting it to be flat . how much does the concrete have to be lowered .we plan on removing bath and lenghten shower and adding seat. the old bath… 0 11835 |
