Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 13, 2020 12:55 pm Hi, there, Our home has finished the framing stage, and today I was told by our SS that they need to add a section of wall in the blue area to create a box in order to be able to run air-con down to the back family room because there is a steel beam in joist space that is indicated by the red line, thus anything towards the front of the house from there can't gain access into the rear room downstairs. It is odd to me that this isn't found in the original design and needs to be picked up by our SS in the construction stage. Does anyone know if this is appropriate to do? Also, what could be the reason that it's only found in this late stage? Your other option would be to have a bulkhead downstairs not sure whether that would work?
