The government wouldnt want to pay if there was high risk or something. Actually its presence is never mentioned by locals so it must be perceived to be extremely low risk. there was a piece on 10 news tonight , mainly about how the guards are now run by a private firm and the union saying the sky will fall in ... Re: Re: Who is building/built in the Ponds 163Feb 24, 2009 6:32 am Sounds like there is going to be another article in the daily telegraph about the boom in the Ponds. hubby got another call yesterday asking to interview him about being a first home buyer in the Ponds. I always wondered how the print media pick who from the public they interview on topical issues. I know some business owners finally get interviewed because they keep sending press releases to magazines, newspapers etc. showing their interest but how do individuals get picked? I haven't been approached once for The Ponds. I've only been approached by a magazine through Homeone regarding the new complying development processes, Stevep79 & Principessa Finished building Wisdom Homes Impression 33mkII in The Ponds, Sydney http://lilypadintheponds.blogspot.com Re: Re: Who is building/built in the Ponds 166Feb 27, 2009 12:18 pm I'm pretty sure they got our details from sales team at The Ponds first time round they asked, and just used that again for some reason this time. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Building the Aspiration 35MKII with Wisdom ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ http://pondsaspiration.blogspot.com/ Re: Re: Who is building/built in the Ponds 167Feb 27, 2009 1:30 pm MKTodd I'm pretty sure they got our details from sales team at The Ponds first time round they asked, and just used that again for some reason this time. Thank you stevep79 and MKTodd. That explains it. Re: Who is building/built in the Ponds 168Apr 15, 2009 2:21 pm I went to the Monarch launched last month and was the lucky few that managed to get a lot without having to camp out. I got a corner lot and now looking at designs and builders but unfortunately there are not many single storey designs for corner lots. I have managed to get quotes from Jandson and Beechwood. The quote for site cost and Basix between these 2 builders are big with one quoting $33K (including about $7K PA) while the other only quote $17K (only $250 PA). Both are using H slab. I would appreciate feedback and comments from anyone here who is building with any of these 2 builders. Re: Who is building/built in the Ponds 171Jun 12, 2009 1:20 pm how are the drawings from BW.. did they complete it on time? on our side, we are still waiting for the drawings to finish. talked to someone that the PA of $250... it may be understated.. so just budget a little more for that. also, are you providing for the fill requirement for your land? or is it pretty much a 'flat' block of land. Re: Who is building/built in the Ponds 172Feb 07, 2011 1:26 pm Just wondering if anyone has had problems with their corner block? We have a corner block and aren't happy with the landscape plan. Firstly we have been forced to have a false balcony on the secondary frontage which we are prepared to do, but our landscape plan came through from the landscaper and we're not happy at all. It seems that we are also being forced to lose over 60m2 of our side yard for external landscaping. Has anyone challenged and won against the design review team? Considering it's our block of land, I don't see how The Ponds developer can force anyone to forfeit their own land to satisfy design guidelines.
