I am laying exposed aggregate from garage to boundary. Builder has offered to extend the driveway over council land onto kerb (about 20 sqm). Builder says council will not have an issue and it’s included within the building rules consent. I wonder if there is any advantage apart from aesthetics as I am spending 2000$ on council land and have no rights to it. I feel maintenance and repair work is easier with pavers Last year I had a gas leak at my house. 3 days later, I have about 1 sqm of my exposed aggregate paving broken up.
