Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Quote for partition shower screen - is it unreasonable? 2Sep 24, 2020 9:58 am The shower alcove in our main bathroom is 2400mmx1000mm. Unsure if it’s the same as you call a partition wall, but we have what our builder describes as nib walls at either end of the shower alcove, with a wide glass door and a narrow fixed glass panel in between. Each nib wall (2700mmx600mm) cost $210 which included full height wall tiling on the shower side. We also have a 900mm strip drain at one end of the shower, the tiled floor is sloped to allow all water to flow into that drain. The drain was an additional $400. Total cost $810. Not quite the same, we won't have the nib walls but the floor and strip drain would have been basically the same. What we asked for was just a glass partition with no door (kind of like the example attached but with a strip drain at the end). If thats the price they want to charge its not worth doing and we'll stick with the original plan of a semi frameless screen and door that will go wall to wall. You could replace it with laminated safety glass but make sure it has AS standards logo on it 1 11161 |
