Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Two Story Home Design feedback please! 8Sep 25, 2020 8:57 am i also have concerns about the staircase..it feels more like a spiral staircase in size and not long enough for comfortable use..i would have expected to need at least 2m x 3m for a basic staircase but that also depends on the ceiling heights and, attempting to reproduce your plans there are some discrepancies in the room sizes shown comparing upstairs and downstairs..eg the ens and wiw shown in beds 5 and bed 3 are shown as matching but the sizes are different?...i realise that the alfresco and MPR and the edge of the garage doesn't match but does any of the upstairs overhanging downstairs and what are the ceiling heights? Re: Two Story Home Design feedback please! 10Sep 26, 2020 10:40 am using your original dimensions my suggestions include more realistic stair size and more generous downstairs ens and kitchen, pantry and laundry with more private powder room and a mudroom... making bed 2 and 4 the same size allows for a full size bathroom with access to the toilet from activity room without having to go through one of the bedrooms and much more wardrobe space but, the necessary alteration to the stairs means that the master suite loses some space but, even without necessary changes to the stairs, i couldn't make the original master bedroom size match the downstairs outline?? adding big furniture shows that it's very big house with opportunity to reduce size/costs without spoiling the basic floorplan.. does the plan belong to a builder or is it a custom design??
