Design and orientation - advice appreciated

Don’t know how feasible it is in your design, but in our custom build, one of the most useful things I’ve found is the laundry chute from upstairs! Our main bathroom is directly above the laundry though. It’s been one of the small design details that has a big impact in terms of making our life easier.

my suggestion include adding furniture to help suggest ideal door and window locations and you need to lose the extra doorway through the kitchen and pantry, add a handbasin in the upstairs loo, consider Solar skylights for kitchen, hallways and all windowless rooms (checkout Arcol and illume brands for more detail) and there's new outside step .. without all the dimensions my room sizes are estimated but minor upstairs changes should save a few extra metres and still allow some changes for added comfort eg master toilet removed from next to the bed, under stairs storage in the laundry, bigger windows and more wall space at the front of the house...and consider a closeable door at the top or bottom of the stairs and across teh entry hall for better temp and draught control Like  ⋅  Add a comment  ⋅  Pin to Ideaboard  ⋅  Share
