We love the floorplan, it flows really well. So I’m curious why you didn’t build the Myrtle Alfresco, which has a home theatre and a study, rather than changing the floorplan of the Felixstow by taking a big chunk out of the dining area to create a separate home theatre? Re: Floor plan advice please 3Sep 11, 2020 8:58 am Thanks for your response Bebbsy. We loved the Myrtle too but I stupidly decided I did not like the main living area as it was too small.I then saw the Felixstow and saw how big it was and thought I would modify it and put a home theatre in there.I also loved the WIR it had because the Myrtle one looked really small for two people. Now that I have had some time to think about it I am thinking I made a mistake and should have gone with the Myrtle. We have signed the contract so not sure if we can switch builds now. Also now I am thinking the home theatre is too small due to the dimensions and wondering if it was worth putting it in. Re: Floor plan advice please 4Sep 11, 2020 10:16 am I would talk to your salesperson before you go any further. Building a house is an expensive exercise and you want to get it right. We have built twice before and learnt from mistakes we made with those previous houses. We have now downsized into our modified Felixstow and are using one of the bedrooms as a multi purpose games/home theatre room with a study nook built into the wardrobe alcove. We love everything about this house. 😀 Re: Floor plan advice please 6Sep 11, 2020 10:32 am I’ll p.m. you a copy of our floorplan. We extended the the living room on both sides, and bedrooms 2 and 3 at the rear. We also aligned the entire side wall of the house to the same as the garage giving us a larger bedroom 4, laundry and bathroom. We also changed the position of the door from the kitchen to hallway so we could put in a walk in closet. We are using bedroom 3 as the multi purpose games/theatre/study room. It also has a modular sofa bed with storage chaise in case guests stay over. Even with two adult sons still living at home (had expected they would have moved out by now 😆) we all have plenty of space within the house. Re: Floor plan advice please 8Sep 12, 2020 12:36 am Good question, there was a reason but I can’t remember what that was. Something to do with being able to gain access that room in an emergency, eg someone collapses in the toilet. We built this design too, but modified it so although the toilet door still opens outward, it swings back to the wall and does not block the doorway of bedroom 4. i thought the flipped plan initially but bec i want narrow pathway from entry to dining (dont like bend), also cannot fit the… 7 12823 Hi, Seeking volume or semi-custom builder in victoria(east), which have existing double story wide floor plans.
