Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Builder put private power pole on Driveway 4Sep 06, 2020 10:55 pm Some councils have a maximum width of the crossover (council section of the driveway), Blacktown regulations say a maximum of 6m wide. The builder may be able to argue that no minimum width is stated within Blacktown council so it complies. What does your site plan show??? Re: Builder put private power pole on Driveway 5Sep 07, 2020 9:01 am Hey Montu That's illegal in most states , lodge a compliant It's an issue between the energy commission and builder Of course if you guys had a building commission it probably wouldn't have happen... bad luck if you build in NSW Cheers Chris Designer,Engineer (Civil,Const & Envir),Builder,Concrete & Masonry Contract.Struct Repairs Re: Builder put private power pole on Driveway 6Sep 07, 2020 4:45 pm When I complained to the builder I got the response that this pole positioning cannot be relocated and is decided by the electricians on site. If I want I can relocate the driveway crossing to be further across to the Right and f you do decide to move your driveway crossing over, the Kerb Outlet would need to be relocated. I think the above response is unbelievable as the Driveway Kerb outlet was already there when I did the builder did the knockdown and rebuild. The person who installed the Private Power pole should have installed it clear from the driveway. The power company doesn't care as it is a private power pole, I think it is the builder's responsibility to position the power pole clear of any hazards especially the driveway when installing the pole. Who else can I complain? Re: Builder put private power pole on Driveway 7Sep 08, 2020 1:54 am well... do you why do even need a pole there, to begin with? why they can't just dig cables under the ground and then they bring them above to your power box somewhere near the house wall? Hi Mrboh Just wondering if you have any BAL or flame zone issues on your block, as getting compliance with BAL requirements whilst doing bearers and joists is tough. Not… 1 8344 If you already have a contract, is the inspection cost stated in there? If not they would be forced to issue you a variation which you could of course object to. 12 25849 |
