Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 04, 2020 11:59 am Hi guys, looks like there are some very knowledgeable posters here. Thanks for your great post over the last few months. We recently brought a battle axe block in Schofields NSW looking into builders and other fun stuff. I am looking for quote to take water, gas, nbn and electric up my drive to my house it’s about 30m and I don’t have a clue where to get started. My the driveway is almost flat and the ground does not seem to have rock as far as I can see. My google search keep bringing up companies that concrete driveways 🤣🤣🤣. Need that too but at a latter stage. No service connection required yet as the house is not even started. Just need to get the connection point for the builders connection closer to the house. Thanks heaps for all the response in advance. Re: Battle axe build 2Sep 04, 2020 10:37 pm The easiest way would be to get the builder to include it in their quote. Each provider has their own requirements and the builder will be able to sork through all the issues. Doing things yourself will have some issues as you don't have a place to terminate the services as there is no house yet. Re: Battle axe build 3Sep 04, 2020 10:52 pm We live in SA and built on a battle axe block with a 35m driveway. Additional cost for services came in around $13k including stormwater and sewage disposal. The builder was responsible for provision of all services to the house. We share the driveway with our neighbour and equally contributed to the cost of laying recycled bitumen, which looks like grey gravel but compacts hard. It is suitable for driveways and footpaths and relatively low cost. Re: Battle axe build 4Sep 05, 2020 6:29 pm Thanks Phil of Sydney, I totally agree but for some reason the builder did not quote for it initially. They have now said that they are going to provide me a quote later on but I would like to get some quotes to compare theirs too. Re: Battle axe build 5Sep 05, 2020 6:34 pm Beddsy, I should have been a bit more clear my services are only gas, electric, water and NBN. My storm water and sewage are connecting elswere. The drive way is already there is a strip up the side where the services can be located I think. Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 8 17170 thank you! do we need to get this or our builder before we commence new build on the block? 2 10260 Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 9432 |
