Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 9702Feb 19, 2016 10:03 am Arielbj so happy for you. FINALLY! I think you deserve to buy yourselves some Moet! S-VE electrical connection is specifically excluded from the tender (your salesperson should have warned you, ours did!). Fortunately looks like prices have NOT gone up for this at least .... We paid $1056 back in sept 2014. We have the termite guard people coming over on Monday for the 1 yr check up (to keep the warranty operative!). $190 for the pleasure ... Thought i'd better at least get the first inspection done! Redwynne .... Sounds like you are milliseconds away from keys! SVE it's great. We are in Barcelona today which will be so nice. In the time away we've had our lovely neighbours update us, I do know we've had render painted, scaffold mostly down, electrical and some items on our "to do list" fixed. It's something I guess! https://mandgbuildatmulgoarise.wordpress.com/ Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 9705Feb 19, 2016 7:25 pm bleaky WKVillina- ah the exact same story for us. Heaps of trades "booked". We've been told that every week for the last month or so. So very disappointing when there is no one ever there. I'm sure he does have trades booked. Just not for our place. Plumber is apparently going to come back on the 29th to install our bathrooms. Just wow! Same day as our contract expires. We've been told PCI next week for a month. Hate being misled. Wouldn't want to have any accurate time frame or anything. No confidence in getting this finished anytime soon. With cladding just checked pics of ours Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Is your framing different? Bleakly- It's also the same story for us. We got a list before Christmas of anticipated dates for things to be done. We still have no showerscreens, half a bathroom vanity (the original one has been removed as it was 3cm too long and they couldn't install the showerscreens), taps, toilets, bath and need to be retiled around the vanity. We were told PCI would be a few days after the Christmas break but are still waiting... D told us last year that our showerscreens were ready and would be installed before shutdown but I spoke to him this week and he was just getting them measured!! He has told us every time we talk to him PCI will be within days but we are now over a month out of contract and they seem to be in no hurry. I hope others are having a better experience than us! Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 9706Feb 19, 2016 8:15 pm So disappointing Mark. Thought at least you'd be in. Doesn't give me much hope of being in anytime soon. We were told we had our showers measured up last week. Really makes me wonder if that really happened or if they told us that to shut us up for a while. We were also told our finishing trades would start this week and we've had no one at all. Except for removing our scaff. Woohoo. I expected better of M, seems like it's going downhill fast. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 9707Feb 19, 2016 8:30 pm Hi all, new to the forum. We are going to build villina elite with 1 garage. Contract/tender signed in Sep 2014. And took forever to get to this stage of doing final contract and then construction. The process so far hasn't been pleasant but more frustrating. Hopefully construction experience will be better! Good to join the team/family here. Have a good weekend! I just don't understand why M is so slow. bleaky - How long until your contract is up ? Have they claimed many rain days ? Arielbj - It's about time VillinaElite2016 - Welcome to the frustrations of M. Here I am complaining that I've been dealing with them for 10 months. Why have you taken so long to get to construction ? I am also building an Elite and construction is about to start. Speaking of connection of power. I received an email today from Energy Connections NSW asking us to fill out an online application to get the power connected. They say it will be connected with AGL. Who will bill me for the connection ? and when does it have to be paid ? Our CC replied today, saying she had posted a letter on Monday, it still hadn't arrived today. She gave us our SS details and told us to ring him and find out when construction is starting. So we called and left a message. Monday is the last day of the 20 day period, if nothing by Tuesday and no communication I'm going to call him all day until he answers. Our SS is going to LOVE me Masterton Villina Elite 2016 23/3 Slab 13/4 Frame & Windows 24/5 Bricks 19/8 Roof 29/9 Gyprock 3/11 Paint Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 9709Feb 19, 2016 8:57 pm VillinaElite2016- welcome. Thats a nice block, good size and flat. Hope your build is smooth and less frustrating than your preconstruction. SVE- our contract is up on the 29th of feb. I had M calculate it when we returned from break. From what we've been told it's unavailability of trades. But I suspect a lot of the time things are being overlooked/forgotten. I mean tiling shouldn't take over 3 months. But if a site isn't being visited regularly it's no surprise. Ring your SS often I say! What area are you building? Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 9710Feb 20, 2016 7:18 am bleaky - We are in Newcastle. We know a few who have built with M and were happy with the end result. I noticed the other day that 2 other M houses have just started construction in the same estate. One has a slab and the other is about to have the slab poured so both houses are not that far ahead of mine. It will be interesting to watch the progress of those 2 other houses and compare it to the progress on our house. They are both across the road from each other and literally 50 metres away from our kids school so I won't be inconvenienced by my house stalking One would think that each trade would move from one house to the next but we all know how incompetent M is. Took so long as council was slow and careless till we make a formal complaint. And also DA company was not efficient at all to deal with council for us. Always have to call or email council ourselves and then chase them up to do plans. Feel like u can't get anything done or moving further without doing it yourself! S-VE, wish ur SS will get back to u soon and hopefully he is a good one!!! Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 9712Feb 20, 2016 8:53 am S-VE good thing it's Newcastle not Western Sydney like us. Probably better chance of trades. Two to stalk in a convenient location? Lucky! I house stalked another masterton single story that was the only other one in our area. It was conveniently located near my sons preschool. We were slabbed and bricked it was. They moved in 4 months ago. A bit depressing but the price you pay for building a double storey. VillinaElite2016- I know the pain of a slow council. We were in council for 6 months due to one of their stuff ups. Cost us 11k. Needless to say I dislike them greatly. MGardz only the scaffold changed on Monday and ours was done yesterday... VillinaElite2016 welcome and good luck Bleaky I can't believe you contract is up 29/2 and he has not organised anyone this week it really seems like a joke... S-VE I have heard there is a really good SS in the Newcastle area hopefully you get him as a good SS makes all the difference with the build. I have put a picture up of our Windows the SS claims do not need framing after getting some advice from an owner builder in the industry we will be ensuring the framing gets done...
