I'm a cheap drunk. An alcoholic club sounds good. We'll have a membership to help pay for the grog. Villinaeliters - I'm sooo jealous. Loved New York. Can I be your bag handler??!! Gibson - Great news on the demo. Rox82 - Ah there's no going back now! Welcome to the looney farm and good luck!! Bleaky - Not surprised that there's a shortage of tradies as that would explain the slowness of builds. M would win more votes if they communicated this to their customers. This will help appease them knowing why there is no work done. Communication is number in any relationship whether it be personal or professional. I also suspect that good and reliable local tradies don't like the idea of being paid peanuts as they've probably been paid a lot more in the past. Mgardz - Looks like some nice wine there. Enjoy!! Well seems we're moving along now. Got the paperwork and final invoice. Those that have been through this, how did you deal with provisions and check them? Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 9606Feb 10, 2016 8:24 am Redwynne- absolutely agree. It's nothing I wasn't aware of, it's how I explained away the weeks of inaction earlier in the build. Letting your customers know what's going on is just common sense. Might get far less grief on both sides. So happy for you. So close to the end! MGardz- can't see them flying in carpenters from WA Gibson- congrats on the demo! I have trades on site today! Woohoo!!!! However - I don't think so! All the things that were checked by the certifier were inside. You should have received a list (at handover or shortly thereafter) from M saying what still needed doing in order to get your FOC. We did. Chase up your CC for it if you don't have it. I don't seem to recall that landscaping was on it. But not 100% sure as don't have the documents in front of me. 2013 1st tender 24/10 Dep. 18/11 2014 5% 25/02 CDC approval 5/5 Demo 26/5 Pool 3/7 Valid'n 10/7 Slab 11/8 Frame 19/9 Bricks 23/10 2015 Roof 3/12 Lock up 11/2 PCI 31/3 Final insp. & keys 30/4 Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 9611Feb 10, 2016 10:48 am If you put temp stairs is that acceptable for FOC as well or just for IOC KDR. It will be state on your approval. Our is rebuild, still has grass. Our condition for get OC is plant 65 l native tree and drive way. Our temp OC is privcy screen. Redwynne, our stairs is much cheaper compare with yours. But we have to sand and oil ourselves which is $1400. Our kichen will get down today. Which they said only take 2 days and $500 to fix. Now, they have replaced splash back tiles, island bench 40mm stone, overhead cupboard on top of fridge. It cost us 2 and half weeks. Masterton is not suit for custom designed homes. Ours is custom designed. It dragged too long and with all sorts problems during construction and design stage. I'm yet to do my colours appt but I have visited dons tiles (sydney supplier), there are standard tiles you pick from. When you attend your tile appt you will be shown the standard ranges. Quite a lot to choose from but it depends on your taste. Upgraded tiles, glass, stone etc is available but is extra. Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 9619Feb 10, 2016 3:51 pm Just spoken to a friend, who built some 5 years ago. He said, that concrete slab conducts moisture, which can cause problems for the flooring. He put some plastic sheets on the slab, than a thick plywood layer and put hardwood flooring on top of the plywood. Those of you, that already built, how did you deal with the moisture from the slab? Did you use the same approach? Is the plastic sheeting and plywood on top a bit of an overkill? 2014 30/05 $3900 25/08 Contracts 02/10 DA submitted 2015 17/02 DA approved 02/04 Colors 10/04 Demo 09/07 Construction start 27/07 Fill 15/08 Slab 21/09 Frame 2016 08/01 Bricks Re: Masterton Homes - The next thread 4.0 9620Feb 10, 2016 4:16 pm I think M pay for 1 certification - either IOC or OC if you don't get the interim.
