Was able to drive right up to the front of my block today. So excited. Been waiting so long. :z:

I dont think train extension to north epping is a good idea. It would bring negative environmental and social impact during construction and operational stages, if it was approved by state govt. To increase of frequency of bus service and bus stops are most efficient way as epping north is not far from Epping station. Also , we realli need the widening of epping road and repairing work at intersection of Lyndarum Drive and Epping Rd.

I agree with you for this. They seriously need to think about widening the roads at present. Also increasing the frequency of Buses and getting it well connected to all the new stages in Aurora and Lyndarum would be of a great help at this point of time.

Yep. The streets names are up, all the roads were open (not from O'herns, we came thru Saxony drive). The roundabout's finished. I think even the surveyor stakes were in. Blocks were flattened, rocks and rubbish removed. It was raining when i was there. Will go again tomorrow with a camera. I just hope the council and AV Jennings get the paperwork through. It would be so lovely to settle b4 xmas. Won't be too much longer for you too.

jpf: we must be neighbours if u r on Redding Rise, stage 27a finishes 3 blocks after the roundabout (coming from Oherns). I won't be able to get out there today. Sorry about that. It looks so beautiful, so many times i thought about selling it and just buying established, now i'm all excited again.

I have told Henley we weren't accepting the fixed site costs and will wait for soil test. Thanks for everyones comments. I did think it was an unresonable over quote.

Just moved into my new house in Aurora - Stage 13 about a month ago
and I wanted to thank everyone on this forum who shared his thoughts and experience on builders, construction timeframe and contract matters.
I know that the following topic has been discussed before, but thought just ask again.
does anyone know what is the latest update on the Internet Providers in Aurora?
Trying to get in touch with anyone from VicUrban, with no luck
a feed back would be highly appreciated

hopefully they will put the lot no's up soon and everything gets sorted out soon so we can start building!!!

Yeah you are right julzg. We are at the stage of Earthworks, we struck a lot of rock on our land, but as per our contract we did not have to pay anything extra for that. I had also confirmed about this when we signed the contract. My Admin very specifically mentioned that I would not be charged anything extra for any amount of Rocks, missing pegs and also cleaning up of the site before building.

That does not sound reasonable to me. We are building with PD and they have told us to expect fixed price site costs to be as miuch as 15k - 20k as a worst case. I stand to be corrected but that seems very high.

It might be an option to engage a private contractor to do the works for you. I can't imagine you would be charged anywhere near that for less than a weeks work.

I would have to agree with M2E.We were told by one of our friends that if you get someone to do it it won't even cost you $5000.

We built with Burbank. We did not pay anything extra. I asked specifically before we signed contract and they said there will be no extra charge depending on how much rock was found.

Just make sure you get everything in writing because our admin person told us all sorts of things that later turned out to be a load of rubbish.

I have the silliest thing to be excited about but the "Lyndarum Charcoal Chicken coming soon" sign is up on the corner of Lyndarum/Epping Road and I got all excited seeing it - at the thought of shops coming in general, not chicken in particular (I'm dieting anyway)

Question about termite protection for Aurora. Burbank says that it's not required and the developer (VicUrban) also does not require it.

Is it something people tend to add in for peace of mind reasons? Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi Wokwon, I was told it's something you can also do after built. And the treatment needs to be re-done after 5, 6 years down the track depending on what chemical was used, there is no life time guaranteed.
If you have spare $$$, just add it in now sure will give you a peace of mind

I don't worry too much about it since there are tons of other things stress me out

PS, I went down to the lot a week ago, saw new taps and pipes are put in. The pipes might be for FTTH according to the other posts.

They've put some rods at the back of the slab but I'm not sure if they are doing it right, I'm going to go there after work and have a look for myself.
