Are you talking about the elegance package or the elegance package flooring promotion?
I went into my local Beaumont and the guy was really good.
He told me the tiles I want are included in the standard range so he wasn't sure why they wouldn't be in the promotion since they are only $33m2. He did say that coral would probably sting me with the costs for installing them as they are porcelain based.
I'm going to say it included the laying cost too. I don't think coral would give that much allowance just for product!

I didn't think that they would allow that much either, so it must include the laying. Ours is the Marcoola 32, so there are a lot of tiles!!!
It will be interesting to see what adds up when the time comes to choose our colours and types of everything. We haven't signed the contracts yet, so we are still a little while off. Is there anything you would recommend when it comes to appointment with the designer time? Is there things you found that you would need to allocate more $$ than what you thought? We haven't signed yet either, going in on Saturday to pay the $1600 deposit and sign.
I decided to take matters into my own hands and do some research before we signed! Wanted to check what promotion would be the best value as I liked the flooring and street appeal promotion. We are paying an extra $3500 for colorbond and $4000 for the Mornington façade/ $5000 for the Torquay (haven't decided) so that's $8500 value right there.
I thought it may have been cheaper to do the flooring myself but I was told the laying of the tiles I like would be around $4000 plus the tiles $2300 (estimate) so that's $6500 then around $3000 for carpet. I'm just hoping the selections are good and I don't have to upgrade! I've contacted carpet call about the timber look laminate flooring as its an option to see what colours/range is selected. If that's nice I might go with that.

Excellent - so the process starts for you - congrats!

Yes, the flooring is definitely the best option for us. I have summized that it's approx 65m2 of carpet required so at this estimate, it seems as though upgrading to something which is $230 a lineal meter, equates to something like $1500 extra which is ok. That's not considering the underlay upgrade though.

We're happy with the tile roof and we're going for the designer facade for the time being. Trying to put some more cash into the house and the front can be looked at later. Can't believe how expensive those things are though! We initially wanted the Hastings portico but it was around the $7000 mark.
Unfortunately, our closest Carpet call is something like 300kms away and Beaumont Tiles is 110 kms away. We will be spending a very long time at the design studio when it comes to choosing these types of things. I have read that most people upgrade the carpet. I went into a locat carpet shop and their builders range started at $160 per lineal metre and the range was pretty ordinary. The next reasonable carpet was at that $220-$250 mark. But like I said, that was just at one store.

Yes, we have definitely desided to go with tiles. No idea what our options are except for the "gold and silver" range. I don't think Beaumont go to this extent of catergorising them on their website (it would be nice though!!). Thought the Carpet Call website was pretty ordinary as well.

Our concreter is scheduled for next week, but weather will decide the exact date.

Fellow Coraleers... I have a question....

So the slab was laid Monday and today I get an email from Coral requesting the slab completion progress payment... my question is - should I/Someone have inspected it and let me know it's all ok? As mentioned I haven't even been advised that the slab was even laid (I have made all contact with the SS and been checking the site via drive by each day).

What's the procedure here?

Ohh and ETA.. did a drive-by in the dark after work and we have FRAMES.. crazy rain predicted here for the next 2 days though, so will see if any of it actually gets put up before next week.

With regards to flooring.. we had Elegance package (tenders and contracts signed this year) and had flooring included (as well as ducted air for $2k or something like that), so not sure if it was a package or just added on?

Anyway I popped into Beaumonts and the guy gave me the paperwork they use on the day. He said Coral is one of the best for inclusions as they allow you to use most size tiles and red or silver stickers. We got a great range to choose from including tile sizes and only paid a tiny sum for a feature mosaic tile in the showers including labour.

With regards to the carpet, we upgraded to Gold in contract (wasn't much maybe a couple hundred dollars for 4 bedrooms and media) Paid extra at colour selections for 10mm underlay and that was $3 or $4 extra per square meter... so not much at all.

You are lucky. I had the progress payment request before the concrete was dry! It came in the afternoon they poured

Yep I'm with S_mack, our email of the progress payment was sent the afternoon the slab went down lol. Our bank sent someone out to inspect the slab before they cleared the money too so be sure to get on it quickly because our bank took a couple of days to sort someone out to check the slab and payment is due fairly quickly

Our bank ordered a valuation prior to paying the slab invoice. We had to get an extension on the 7 days

We spoke to head office & the lady wasn't overly concerned. She suggested it was a pretty common issue with banks at the slab stage. No delay or halt on work - but they were slow to get started anyway!

We made the first two payments ourselves too Mellywil. The first I did in branch, the second I was able to change my daily limit to suit the transfer.

Thanks for the reply, I'm actually after someone that has the sewer/storm water connected type, I'm having a bit of dramas at the moment and want a straight answer whether someone has one in qld or not. Thanks again
