Your place is looking very nice.....god all this talk about moving is scaring me viewtopic.php?t=78985 Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 922Jan 05, 2016 4:42 pm Moving IS painful. We are only in transition. Should have just insured our current house and popped some sausages* on the burner and went shopping *Tofu sausages Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 923Jan 08, 2016 7:22 pm Hi, bluesteel just been reading your thread on your build with ADH. You have a beautiful house! We will be custom building in Blackwood Park (block settles next month!!) and ADH is one of the builders we are considering. Anyway this is my first post, just thought would write one so I can get any pic updates. Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 926Jan 15, 2016 9:21 pm meshelf Hi, bluesteel just been reading your thread on your build with ADH. You have a beautiful house! We will be custom building in Blackwood Park (block settles next month!!) and ADH is one of the builders we are considering. Anyway this is my first post, just thought would write one so I can get any pic updates. Sorry have been busy trying to organise all our junk! Blackwood park is lovely - although am not a major fan of ADH's display home.....they know it have told them lots of times. I would certainly recommend ADH thus far. We still have some outstanding PCI things but as a standard they have done well. We built with Format before and their standard was on par. ADH offers a few things that were attractive to us and our building consultant at ADH was wonderful as was our SS (x2). Would love to see plans as they come to life. Will post pics we are still in the middle of a dustbowl some landscaping going to start next week..... Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 927Jan 15, 2016 9:31 pm Tribe7 Hey blue, how's everything going? That inner stylist busting a move in her brand new house? VERRRRY funny. Loving the house, sort of styled bits - but the biggest thing is finding the right place for things. It is lovely to have so much space. Have bought all furniture and has all arrived (we only bought a handful of things) but couch only arrives early feb. and you Ms TC don't encourage her!! Tried loading photos but photobucket keeps saying hmmmmmm something is not right......very helpful Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 928Jan 15, 2016 9:35 pm Hehehhe sorry I couldn't help myself, I miss seeing your posts. Agree I moved our bits and bobs around a million times before I was happy with them. Secretly it's half the fun. Ohhh you have been shopping, now your talking. What kind of couch did you purchase? Did you find the tan leather one you where looking for? Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 929Jan 15, 2016 9:39 pm We went black....we had a beige leather one and it went a bit yuck. Luckily under warranty and was covered. The leatherman who came out to look x 2 said get a black couch so we did. Bought 2 lovely cushions in teal/aqua, coffee tables, kids bedsides. Then I went to Mums and found all this bed linen and towels I had hidden away....eek not towels or bed linen needed for about 5--10 years!! Trying to do photo posting but photobucket not cooperating, shall keep on trying! I missed you too but have been on and off H1 quick on my phone here and there. Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 930Jan 15, 2016 10:52 pm Oh wow black, that will be a real statement piece can't wait to see it, damn photo bucket better gets its act together. Looking forward to seeing the coffee tables and bedsides too. Ohh cushions sound lovely. Woo hoo nothing like a treasure trove at your mums place. Good thinking tucking all that away. I was a bit the same over the Xmas period as it was just so busy, it's hard to get on and look properly when your short on time. Once everything calms again you can spoil us with your lovely pics Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 931Jan 15, 2016 11:21 pm Thank you for the update! I'm not that keen on the show home either, I like a bit of warmth with timber (or look) floors etc it's interesting with the split design though. Look forward to the updates! Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 932Jan 16, 2016 12:33 am Tribe... it's not a very stylish couch - but comfy and huge - 3.4 m long 4 seater. Had render done yesterday - now begins the search for a colour - thinking very dark grey. Will wait till more things are in the front yard like paving/plant/fence...... there's nothing there now The render has to cure anyway. http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/ww288/ambipup05/frontage.jpg PS - Do you like the driveway....our car is so low we had to build it up to stop it scraping the bumper. Its derelicte chic. I am bluesteel after all Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Also coffee table - I loved a glass one but OH vetoed because of kids and safety if I couldn't have that I wanted something to go with the massive couch where everyone could reach - so a set of tables that fit together and then could be split as needed. These are supposed to be stools - but they are really more side tables we got 7 and have had fun making different shapes! http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/ww288/ambipup05/coffee%20tables.jpg Paving starts on Tuesday - we went a small interlocked paver due to our reactive soil and a larger paver in the entertaining areas - didn't see any pavers I loved so kept it plain, simple and cheaper! More to spend elsewhere. Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 933Jan 16, 2016 5:44 am Haha!! Wow! The render is looking good ...really adds an interesting break to the lovely licourice bricks I love the way you think differently to create your own style ... Coffee table another case in point -- genius!!! Your driveway looks like ours! We have leftover Hardi plank and carpet lining ours Loving all the post build happiness with my build buddies still here Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 934Jan 16, 2016 7:31 am We have rendered the whole place (admittedly very different design) using Dulux Acrashield in Homebush (medium to dark grey). Have a look at the last set of photos. Using my LG-G4 to bring you this update. Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 935Jan 16, 2016 9:04 am Wow that's one massive couch. Absolutely love the stools come coffee tables, nothing wrong with thinking outside the square. My dinning table is one of those Ohhhhh the render is lovely, mmmmm what about domino? It would be a huge statement. Would make your scandi teak front door pop too. Greys are so hard, our guild grey in our render throws weird colours and it took red doors to make it look like a black grey . Hehhehehhe go the garage build up, well how else are you supposed to get in there? Looking forward to Tuesday's updates and paving pics, your driveway will be paved too? Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 937Jan 16, 2016 6:09 pm Can't wait to see your pavers. That's something we can't decide on. Who did you go through? Love the coffee table!! Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 938Jan 31, 2016 9:51 pm Sorry have been completely MIA. Combination of school holidays and getting house sorted and trying to get paving underway. The block is lovely and huge but the size is making landscaping painful.
We are about halfway through paving will definitely start posting photos. ATM the house looks so grotty because of all the excavation dust and now the site is muddy also from the rain. It would be so tempting to just let someone do everything but I find as each bit is done the next step evolves a bit differently and plans change. Will start catching up on the threads. School holidays finish tomorrow. Little one starts full time kindy/ELC......awww And to add to the madness about to adopt a 4 year old dog. Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 939Feb 01, 2016 9:50 pm Blue I have been on the same MIA train. Your landscaping sounds great and the paving will be sensational, maybe a sneak peak pic?? I'm still trying to block out the dirt and dust memories it's so painful and it gets everywhere Right you answered my question about kindy, wow such a big boy now. We don't have kindergarten in qld (unless you want to pay childcare rates for it or go to a 5 day fortnight kindergarten at certain schools which still costs a bomb and finishes at 2.30 ) hope your little chap goes well tomorrow . Oh wow a new pooch, that will be exciting the kids will love it. I'll catch up on everyone else's news tomorrow, mr t is patiently waiting to watch a game of thrones episode Re: Adelaide Designer Homes 2015 Pics! 940Mar 16, 2016 8:06 pm Well we have definitely been on the slow boat.... Christmas, new year moving, cleaning rental school starting meant for lots of delays and then delays out of our control. Neighbours could not quite agree on a fence.....then they did not want us to pay for it all and do it on our land.......now have agreed but it won't be for another 4-8 weeks. Which meant we couldn't /didn't want to plant anything near the boundary so nothing has been planted at all. We also could not do our front fence because we wanted to maintain access. We then struggled with the whole paving vs concrete. I like the pavers but appreciate the solid mass of concrete....time will tell if it was a good or not good choice (think I have read to many slab heaving horror story threads, does my head in). We have a lot of area to landscape - 550sqm - which I was regretting but as it is getting done I think it will be worth it.....still not sure. We have paving and grass. We laid Sir Walter but then had an unscheduled mini heat wave of 35 degrees plus for 10 days straight but luckily a bit of rain in the middle helped. So I hope these pics will become more exciting in the next month and I can get some plants in! Do you love the post box? Postie insisted we had one but I didn't want wrapped up doggie doo deposits so made it as small as possible. The driveway ended up slightly narrower than I wanted because council rules it has to be 4.5 m at the verge. Was a bit peeved in the weeks after when I saw lots of lovely 6m wide driveways......live and learn...(can always widen later if desperate). http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/ww288/ambipup05/paving.jpg We ended up with a total of 230sqm of paving. Our paving guy called them the departure and arrivals runways - we kept the paths wide at 1.8m all around the house and the long sides are 39m long each . And a few retaining walls went in too. Going to attempt a small 5sqm area ourselves this weekend as a viewing platform in the upper area where the step is. http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/ww288/ambipup05/paving%202.jpg Our 120 sqm of lawn, pic is during the heatwave - has held up really well and not needing too much water, hopefully it will start to be a bit cooler and wetter....Planning a row of hot pink crepe myrtles along the fence underplanted with liriopes and have the trees uplit. The other option were tuckeroo trees - I would prefer evergreen trees - but they are probably a bit big. If anyone can suggest at 5-6 m high evergreen tree please do. But they have to be tough. http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/ww288/ambipup05/image%204.jpg Hopefully will have some diy paving pics to share.....or not as the case may be Phew.
