Enjoy your beautiful new home Our building journey: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=76935 Our first home with Summit - KEYS 26 NOV!! 867Dec 01, 2015 4:05 pm Thanks for the lovely comments everyone . We are stoked with how everything is going! It is very tiring though!! I have been cleaning since morning and still haven't finished . By the time I finish cleaning this house I will be a professional cleaner! You should have seen me on my knees scrubbing those floor tiles, lol, they look good now We had cleaned the house nicely on Saturday and Sunday and mopped all the floors with the help from family and friends thinking that there is no more dust from tradies since the painters had finished. And then the electrician rocked up yesterday and drilled the holes for the downlights throughout the whole house, OMG dust everywhere again . It didn't even cross our minds that the electrician is going to drill the ceilings so there was no point even mopping the floors before they came. They had finished by 11 am so the whole day yesterday was just dusting and mopping again . Lesson learnt for next time and I just thought I would mention this for you guys too so you won't be caught unaware like we did, I think it's too much excitement . We had to clean the rental too so you can imagine how tiring that is!! I am glad renting is over, no more inspections, we now have to inspect ourselves . Quick update, downlights were installed yesterday and sheer curtains and roller blinds have just been installed . It looks amazing! I will do a post about those later. Very good tip about the cleaning before electrician comes. I will definitely remember that as ours wont be coming until a full week later! Place is looking great! Making me more excited about mine now hah Re: Our first home with Summit - KEYS 26 NOV!! 875Dec 01, 2015 11:43 pm Things are looking great, good tip about the downlights and cleaning Re: Our first home with Summit - KEYS 26 NOV!! 876Dec 02, 2015 12:09 am Yay! Can't wait to see your sheers and downlights! Who did you use for your sheers again? First Build, Commodore Homes, Honeywood, Wandi. viewtopic.php?t=77170 Re: Our first home with Summit - KEYS 26 NOV!! 877Dec 02, 2015 1:32 pm Our shutters have been installed, yay another happy dance . It looks good, I can't believe it's all happening . It feels more like a home now that we have all the window coverings. We (means hubby, lol) now need to finish assembling the furniture to finish it off nicely. We are getting there slowly but surely (3 dining chairs done 3 to go, good progress ). How I wish I could just stay at home and take it all in. Unfortunately we have to work to pay the bills . We thank God everything is falling into place and everything went according to plan . Will worry about the landscaping and planter boxes later. Pics to follow. Noticed our dishwasher is leaking . Have already contacted the maintenance department and they will fix it. OMG, I love the Ariston dishwasher it's super quiet , we had to double check if we had turned it on! Our building journey viewtopic.php?f=31&t=77582 Re: Our first home with Summit - KEYS 26 NOV!! 878Dec 02, 2015 1:39 pm Oh, I want a quiet dishwasher too. Our current one (Bosche) is good, but definitely not quiet. Our build thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=70984 Soak wells and electrical run in happening this week! Summit has told me they will relocate the laundry plumbing after the walls are completed. I'm actually pretty happy… 13 36936 Cant give recommendations in general with that builder, but during the colour selection, this is honestly personal preference. Depends on the style you want.
