Keep us posted on how did you go with your development. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 862Nov 19, 2014 11:17 am Docx, who is the new builder you have gone with? I may contact them as it seems nothing will happen on mine with Allworth now before Christmas which means that it will be 11 months since paying my deposit before I actually sign contracts. Unfortunately Allworth are the ones who are stuffing me around, plans went to council and approved in three weeks which was at the end of July. I should have pulled out at the beginning when it took them 10 weeks to send me the deposit confirmation and 12 weeks to send the first draft of the plans which of course were incorrect. It has just gone down hill from there. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 863Nov 19, 2014 3:58 pm Chris, we are going with a local builder here in Newcastle, they have been fantastic!they have no plans to choose from but basically just throw in your ideas & what you like and your budget. We have been very limited with designs to every project builder due to the shape of our block. They have been building around locally & we've been checking at other house's progress. Theres one with piering started when we first contact them mid October and we drove past yesterday & brickwork has been washed & electrician & plumber tradies there. Its amazing within a month is near to lock up. We phone up people that build with them & everyone was happy & had a great experience. Someone in homeone forum build with local builder too in Sydney & she was very happy with them, & she can supply her own sinks & taps & other things. I'll search her up for you. Have you sign contracts with allworth yet? apparently its much better when its gone into construction stage. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 864Nov 19, 2014 11:17 pm Hi Docx, thanks for letting me know. That would be great if you can find that information for me. Unfortunately I have not signed contracts yet. There was an issue with obtaining the exact location of the sewer because my neighbours have concreted over the sewer manhole so they could not get access to it. This was known back in July and Allworth and the plumbing company have been stuffing around with it for the last 4 months. I also have to encase part of the sewer so now it needs to go to Sydney Water for approval which apparently takes 20 days. Until this comes through they cannot get the construction certificate and I cannot sign contracts. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 865Nov 20, 2014 7:09 am If you have paid the deposit and leaves Allworth homes they refund your deposit - expenses they had like soil test prem plans etc. If you are at early stages refund will be more. It is written in the tender. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 867Nov 20, 2014 11:43 am Tin28a We signed the contracts yesterday and i sent them to the bank today. Just wondering how long it took everyones bank's to give allworth the letter to commence? For us, we signed contracts and gave it all to bank on the 15th October and letter was issued on the 20th October. The commencement letter was received by Allworth 14th Oct. We had to wait for an updated home warranty insurance as it wasn't the same amount as our contract & bank would not approve until it was fixed. Allworth provided a copy on the 9th October and our bank sent the letter the next day. Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 869Nov 20, 2014 6:12 pm I got a phone call today saying that my plans were delivered today so I picked them up just before they closed. Pretty happy with it and it only took 4.5 weeks when they said it would take 6 or more Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 873Nov 22, 2014 11:53 am We were told ours will be off 20th Dec - 12 Jan Nel.B Building the Serenade with Allworth Homes Blog: http://allworthserenadeatchisholm.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 875Nov 24, 2014 12:05 pm Our slab got laid today!! Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 878Nov 25, 2014 10:42 am It's me posting (again!) Just wondering how does rain affect a new slab. Our slab was poured yesterday and last night it rained quite hard. My MIL rang me this morning to ask how it was... made me wonder if I should be worried at all? Nel.B Building the Serenade with Allworth Homes Blog: http://allworthserenadeatchisholm.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 879Nov 25, 2014 7:18 pm Rain is good for concrete,,believe it or not,,it makes it set harder,,its better then having hot weather,,i know when they poured our driveway, they recommended wetting it so it would set better:-) My blogg attempt http://allworthnewbuild.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Who is building with Allworth Homes 880Nov 27, 2014 9:41 pm Our nice new 4 day old slab looks more like a dirt bike track than anything else. I was advised tonight from a friend who is also building right near us that there were excavator tracks all over our 4 day old slab. Worried there could be damage, I've bundled my 3 children into the car at 9pm and taken the 5min drive to our block. (Pics are on my blog) Not quite sure what to make of this other than plumbers are messy! I couldn't check the whole slab as it was late at night and the only light I had was from the car head lights (plus big holes and me in thongs were not a good combo either). I just find this weird as I have not seen this before on any of the houses that have gone up in the new estate. Has anyone else had this on there's? Nel.B Building the Serenade with Allworth Homes Blog: http://allworthserenadeatchisholm.blogspot.com.au/ I would never build with Fowler homes.
