It's hard to tell from this angle Building the Clarendon Merriden 30 (44 after Mods) @ Harrington Grove! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8265Jun 06, 2015 12:12 am Roomeat Stumisty I also somehow missed telling them we are going to tile the study so the baseboards are set up for carpet. Are you talking about the skirting? Not sure i follow with this. Are you wanting to set the skirting at different heights? Won't that look strange? Yes, Skirting is what I called Baseboards. So in the main areas they know I am tiling and raised them all off the slab by about 10mm. I guess I should go measure if they are raising them or cutting them down and lifting off the slab. Suffice to say there is a 10mm gap from the slab to the skirting. In the Study they expected carpet and the skirting is down to the slab - no gap. I really didn't have any memorable conversation about how they do this, it was just done this way. The SS today indicated he maybe should have asked me, but just thought our Study would have carpet. I would have been happy if they did it all the same throughout, but they don't. ------------- Building modified Wentworth 35 with Clarendon Homes 13/11/14 Site Cut - 01/12/14 Slab Poured - 02/06/15 Fencing Removed - 16/06/15 Handover Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8266Jun 06, 2015 5:06 am Cat83 andrew92 Finally brick are started and will have scaffold up by Wednesday next week then they will continue with the remainder ️feels like it's taking forever Saw your bricks today, they look amazing! I would have thought it would just be easier to leave the skirts at the same height or leave them off. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8273Jun 06, 2015 8:10 am Hi Rose, We also did the contrast and I love it. That being said we didnt do a pelmet. You are lucky to get the blinds in before handover as we had to wait until 3 weeks after. I have the Clarendon guy coming on Tuesday to fix a list of things I'm not happy with, these include: Chips on the bottom on nearly every door Toliet roll holders coming loose I was actually amazed at how many things were not straight like out bath tap and shower rail - you would think they would use a level......obviously not - make sure you check this however when on tiles not much they can do once its in. Door magnets all coming off Lots of no gaps required Grout missing from tiles or has come loose Architraves to be replaced in laundry Basically lots of little things due to laziness. Our landscapers were supposed to come back yesterday but didn't. I have a feeling they have one team and share between jobs so they basically work 3 days at my job and two days at the other. Pretty frustrating really when you just want the job done. What should have been a 3-4 week job has taken months. That being said they have done a great job with drainage etc - just extremely slow and the bosses lack of communication can be frustrating. Built a Fairmont 35 in Pennant Hills. Rose that is the type of stuff I am talking about - just lazy. Get them to fix it now - otherwise it will do your head in.That join is ridiculous - actually its not even a join. I mean.. how can they really call that "done".. The bottom of it is resting against the skirting board.. so, so obvious.. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8280Jun 06, 2015 11:56 am Guys - don't laugh - as this is what they do. Some ******* workmanship. I am having all my architraves in my laundry replaced next week because my 12 year old could have done better. Just make sure you get into it sooner rather than later.
