Read your contract there should be a clause that they can change things. Even though its written on your tender, builder has the power to supply different to the tender. Re: New Living Homes 825Jul 30, 2018 8:31 am ZoranaAlex does anyone have any reviews on the Euromaid appliances you received with NLH? They are good brand. Many of my friends using Eduromaid appliances for last 5-6 years. they says 1-2 issues but they are running great. Re: New Living Homes 826Jul 30, 2018 9:13 am So I visited my house yesterday and found a lot of work already being completed. But when I had a peek through the lounge room window I noticed they put white or light coloured stone island bench when my colour selection is Internal Scheme 3 which should have black bench stop. I am wondering whether I should tell my SS what I have found out as I was not supposed to enter the construction premise. The other thing is how it is going to affect the construction progress. I hope it will not cause much delay for them to replace all (as even the butlers pantry and laundy joinery has to be changed to match the colour scheme). I can't believe they'd make a mistake like that! I'd jump on it ASAP. Maybe call your SS and ask for a inspection walk through asap and then mention it, I'm not sure what would happen if you mentioned that you went there yourself. Re: New Living Homes 829Jul 30, 2018 9:26 am jcal14 Will call my SS today and probably do that. I will share here my experience on how it will go. Good Luck! Re: New Living Homes 830Jul 30, 2018 9:42 am jcal14 Will call my SS today and probably do that. I will share here my experience on how it will go. You can ask your SS what has been done last week. and if he says that kitchen benchtop has installed etc. You can ask him "hope you installed the colour I asked for"? as you are concern if they have installed correct one or not as it happened to your friend "me". Yes mate I actually thought about the error you had in your build when I saw the wrong colour on my bench top. I will have a chat with SS and try to “inject” the topic about colour scheme Re: New Living Homes 832Jul 31, 2018 2:54 pm sudu ZoranaAlex how are they allowed to do that if your tender and contract says what you’re meant to get.. whats the point of having a tender/contract then? they can change your whole house.. I asked my SS why they install different rainwater tank, his reply was may be company got a better deal. Then i emailed my sales agent, why they install different rainwater; as NLH main slogan is "what u see is what u get"-then why they changed it without notifying me...Is it a technical issue or just tried to save money. Waiting for the reply... Only other document speaks about this is the Colour Selection where it says colour is "Jasper". Accordingly, NLH can instal any slimline taknk. New Living Homes 834Aug 02, 2018 7:25 pm To those who build in Camden council and did their driveway after handover (not included in the NLH contract), did you have to pay to council separately for driveway application? Apparently the council is charging something around $350 for this application, which I don’t understand why as for new home construction all the paperworks were already lodged previously so it’s double charging! You don’t have to pay I think if your CDC Plan already includes Driveway plan. Please confirm by Calling them. Re: New Living Homes 836Aug 15, 2018 11:50 am Any one knows which company does the fly screen / security doors for New Living Homes? Re: New Living Homes 837Aug 20, 2018 6:42 am sudu Hi ZoranaAlex, I did my downlights after handover and there is no risk of damaging your house, just make sure your electrician is insured. But I did all possible extra double plug-points Internal & external from Jade. And you are right about the downlights provided by NLH, I didn't like what they are providing. Jade said they can't do 2 way pier light on the 2 front piers for my facade so I did nice downlight after handover. We are in the process of putting up deposit and would be going in for 'The Oak' design (24 sq) soon. This post has been really helpful in understanding the various aspects we need to consider with NLH. NLH have quoted me the following for the following 3 items: - Flooring carpet and laminate to living - $9k - Driveway $8.5K - 38 downlight and 2 pendants - $4k Total - $21.5k Going through the posts I got a feeling that these are items that NLH may allow me to do on my own (subject to confirmation from out consultant). What I wanted to check from the more experienced members with NLH in this post is the following: - are there savings if we chose to do it on our own? If yes then how much? - if not savings I am assuming I would be able to get better quality product and variety in the same price? - anyone who has build Oak previously if they can share some design recommendations - as a new starter are there points to consider, clarify which you would have done if started over - overall are you happy with the quality of construction with NLH Appreciate your feedback. I wouldn''t be much help in the additional costs, as we had all of those things included in our package. We did do a few upgrades in the kitchen, such as the bulkhead, sink and we put cupboards in our butlers pantry. We also did a few extra things with the electrical company, added lighting outside and a few powerpoints, which to be honest, wasn't as expensive as we thought. We were going to do it all after key handover, as we thought it would be cheaper, but this saves us a headache and a lot of mess! Our frames went up on friday, today roof is going up! At this stage, we are very happy, they were slow at the beginning, but have picked up now If you need anything just let us know. Re: New Living Homes 839Aug 21, 2018 11:58 am Hi Sunbox24 whereabouts are you building? Regarding the driveway I know the contractor doing it for New Living as I currently engaged their service in my build in Spring Farm. The cost is $6k for double car garage including council cross over. My original contract had it for $7,320 (that was 2 years ago as my land got delayed in registration) so it is still a saving for me. Your quote for downlights is just about the same if you go for external electrician so just consider the brand/quality of LED downlights you like. I also did it outside of NLH but engaged Jade electrical which is their electrician.
